I used to love this game but I always got stuck in the graveyard. I realize the secret now it to just never take the obvious path and look for something secret, but that shit is mean when you're 12 years old. I never got into the village of women or upgraded to the Shooting Star T_T

Just as well, I watched a friend beat it years later and the end game looks absolutely brutal!

Yeah, I only played it on an emulator, and even with constant save scumming it was tough. I can't imagine beating it without using save states.

I am stuck on the Easter island statue boss.

The graveyard was confusing with all the false exits.

Remember when Toys R Us had a giant stack of these, being sold for like $5 each? I think Dreamcast was either already out, or just around the corner. And I said "That game looks cool. Too bad I'll never get to play it...."

I love this game. Used to be all about it when I was younger. It’s also the only NES rom on my phone these days.

My whole family used to crowd around the NES every weekend taking turns trying to beat this game, Lolo, and Zelda. StarTropics was one of our favorites, but we collectively could never beat it.
