Now there's a new costume idea for the next movie.

I remember being convinced for a while that Pénot also painted Lucifer, or that Franz Von Stuck (who painted the Lucifer painting I'm thinking of) also painted this due to the eyes. (Below) Fantastic effect. Really love the way her hair whips around in the wind in this painting, there's a really scary ethereal movement implied here.

But yeah great painting. The eyes look kinda cool.

Those pectoral muscles are not nearly large enough to effectively use those wings

We have a print of this in our stairway. A few years ago we had a bed delivered and one of the delivery guys chortled “Heh. Naked chick with wings.”

He sort of sounded like Bevis, but was utterly delighted at the random artistic nudity. Since then randomly quoting the guy has become an inside joke with my wife. It’s so silly, but we always have a giggle over it.

Why though? She can fly you around.

This image accompanied the copy of Carmilla I got from Project Gutenberg.

I love this painting. Something about it gives me comfort, and im not talking about the nudity. The lighting, the feel, i don't know exactly. It seems so oddly familiar.

Hm. Like, it's pretty but...what's so spec- oh my fucking god these eyes are so unsettling.

Pretty much my reaction. As soon as I noticed how her eyes look, image became hella different xD

I'm still kinda into her, eyes and all.

It always gets to me that her hands are in a sort of playful-pounce position ...

[–] yggstyle@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Jazz hands.
