The US should be dark blue. He attacked US cities with the troops.

Venezuela should be dark blue as well. He attacked them with missiles.

In years past he also attacked some child beauty pageants. Probably some girls only schools. And Epstein island.

Venezuela should be dark blue. Attacking civilians of a country is attacking that country.

Also, didn't he capture a Venezuelan Tanker? Not sure if it was in territorial waters or not, but if Iran captured a US tanker, no matter where it was, I'm pretty sure the US would classify it as an attack

Technically, by threatening to attack Greenland he has threatened Denmark, and by threatening to attack NATO members he has threatened all NATO members.

[–] whyNotSquirrel@sh.itjust.works 8 points 3 months ago

And if he attacks Greenland he would legally be forced to attack AND defend it at the same time! No?

You forgot to include USA.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

At what point does an economic threat become a military one? If that economic threat will do vast damage to a country's wellbeing could it be determined a military threat? For example, taking billions of $ from a country is more damaging than losing a single battleship.

If so, he's threatened almost every country on the planet.

Well, one of the ways the world waged war during WW2 was direct attacks on the industrial and economic infrastructure of the enemy. If you can achieve the same thing without even having to bomb them, I'd say that's as much of a threat to the countries sovereignty as military action would be.

Why aren't Americans more upset about the complete lack of action on hostile take over of Greenland? It's a completely lovely country to take over and promises were made. Seems like there would be more outrage about this just fading into oblivion while good money is being spent redecorating the dictator's palace.

The trump playbook is to create 3 new outrages a week, so we are in constant firefight mode.

We are trying to release Epstein.

We are trying to stop ICE from kidnapping our citizens.

We are trying to stop fascism.

A mix in there is voting protection, protecting American citizens born to immigrant parents, trans-rights, taxing churches, workers rights etc.

No offense, but Greenland is on the bottom.

[–] cheesybuddha@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Wait... do you want American's to be outraged that he hasn't followed through with his threats against Greenland?

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 months ago

I want Americans to turn off their televisions, read books, abolish their electoral college, demand real tangible platforms from political candidates and show up to polls to vote for them, get involved in local politics and demand ranked-choice voting.

I'm just surprised they've let the whole Greenland thing go. It's such a lazy brand of evilness.

[–] Worx@lemmynsfw.com 5 points 3 months ago

Also some American cities, right?

[–] cheesybuddha@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

Didn't he threaten Guatemala too? Or was the just with implied military action?
