I think the Golf would be an easy hot hatch to electrify as it’s personality is discrete, but I hope we’re not gonna lose hot hatches like the Type R or the equivalent of a Megane RS.

320hp with instant torque through the front wheels seems like a lot.

I agree. I’m thinking 250 would be more than enough. They could keep numbers similar to the mk8 and it would be plenty fast. Although I suspect they will want it to be slightly faster than the mk8.

Too bad most EVs feel boring compared to ICEs, despite how much power they have. I don't know, I like the power curve of an ICE

I saw the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N mimics an ICE power curve with simulated gear changes as well.

So dumb but so awesome at the same time.
