I typically do not enjoy turn based games, but BG3 is a fucking masterpiece (about to play the D:OS 1 and 2 this break) and E33 is pretty solid for the first couple hours i've played of it. Not liking a particular style of gameplay doesn't make it bad, and the idea that its more popular or being "shoved" anywhere is frankly ridiculous.
Slop.

It was actually the other way, action was pushed into every genre that originally started as turn based (or at least giving you time to think) - strategy, rpg, logic, adventure etc etc.
Some guys never won at Monopoly and it shows.
Monopoly was designed to be miserable, if you want to play a game about unironically being a dominant-class shitlord at least play Settlers of Catan
I'm the sheep baron
Does anyone else prefer Real-Time-with-Pause (RTwP, like in Dragon Age: Origins or Pillars of Eternity or BG1/2 and other Infinity Engine games)? Looks like it's dying unfortunately, although some indies still use it (like Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy or Black Geyser or GreedFall 2).
Rimworld uses it as does Against the Storm and Stellaris. Seems like it’s used more for grand strategy games or city management
no one is shoving anything in your damn fucking throat
why not? 😔 i love turned based strategy!!!
The entire world is conspiring against "Windrider784" by churning strategy games yearly. Now let's make it bi-weekly to send a message.
