Been using the beta, but I missed the reminder alarm thing. That’s gonna be super useful!

Yeah, this might make reminders work for me.

They drown on my lock screen and over the years I’ve found them less effective at times. Push notifications, man.

It comes with customizable alarm clock snooze, right? Right..?

12.3GB on my iPhone, 11.6GB on my Mac... wut? Just seems backwards.

8.88GB on my iPhone 14 Pro

I wonder what it's missing. 14 Pro also has Dynamic Island, always-on display, satellite connectivity... it's just a little less powerful. Still runs Apple "Intelligence", right?

Only the 15 pro onwards runs Apple Intelligence

[–] frosty@pawb.social 1 points 4 months ago

Correct. The iPhone 14 does not.

MacOS remains unchanged :(

Don’t update if you don’t have to. Biggest mistake of my life. It is extremely buggy. Stay on iOS 18 if you can.

I don’t have any problems.

For me, random parts of the ui will load with the wrong dark mode/light mode colors. Car Play keeps disconnecting because a random pop up comes on that wants me to confirm km not driving. That happens when the phone is just sitting there on its own.

Random stuff like that. It’s the most noticeably unfinished release I’ve seen in a while.

I’ve got plenty for the both of us lol

You must live a very perfect life if updating your phones os was the biggest mistake in it.

Agreed. The new look is awful. Delay your upgrade as long as you can!

the liquid glass is not as bad now and you can pretty much disable it if you want.

[–] lettruthout@lemmy.world 0 points 4 months ago

Reducing transparency and increasing contrast helps but it’s still awful. Can anything else be done?

My M2 MacBook Air and M2 Pro Mac mini both took performance hits with macOS 26, but iOS 26 has been fine. I don't mind Liquid Ass, though. It's interesting, and no performance hit on 16PM, and I don't have issues with the visuals. On iOS 26.1 I went with the frosted look, so the contrast is a bit better. Reduce Contrast takes it down too far and I love the glass effects.

My only issue with the Liquid Ass updates is how Finder windows look on the Mac. They're more rounded in the corners than the MacBook Air's corners are, so there's a gap. My LG UltraView doesn't have rounded corners at all (it's perfectly rectangular), so the rounded corners just look dumb. I generally like macOS, but Finder looks stupid now. It looked way better before. But I feel like Apple doesn't care about the Mac as much as they used to, and are shoehorning crap in just to check boxes.

I did not hate Liquid Glass as much as I thought I would. The only gripe I really have with it at the moment is that I can't reduce the size of the clock on the lock screen. It's big or bigger. Also, with one of the wallpapers, some of the complications on the lock screen are hidden in the wallpaper. Haha
