If you find an injured owl:
Note your exact location so the owl can be released back where it came from. Contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitation specialist to get correct advice and immediate assistance.
Minimize stress for the owl. If you can catch it, toss a towel or sweater over it and get it in a cardboard box or pet carrier. It should have room to be comfortable but not so much it can panic and injure itself. If you can’t catch it, keep people and animals away until help can come.
Do not give food or water! If you feed them the wrong thing or give them water improperly, you can accidentally kill them. It can also cause problems if they require anesthesia once help arrives, complicating procedures and costing valuable time.
If it is a baby owl, and it looks safe and uninjured, leave it be. Time on the ground is part of their growing up. They can fly to some extent and climb trees. If animals or people are nearby, put it up on a branch so it’s safe. If it’s injured, follow the above advice.

That duck must be exceedingly scrumptious judging by the face she's making. Worthy of the finest french bistros.
It certainly looks like a top shelf duck...
Photog said it's a Long Tail Duck

Oooh those guys are on my list! So pretty (and clearly tasty too).

looks like someone didn't... duck... 🦆
also these shots are beautiful, nice job
Hah, one didn't duck enough, and one will be much more duck than she was before.
We think of Snowies as cute and fun, but they are typically larger than the Great Horned Owl, making them the heaviest owl of North America. From what I read, the GHO is usually more powerful, but it just shows how tough Snowies are despite their delightful appearance.
Beautiful, yet dangerous!
I'm glad you like them. I always get a bit cautious sharing owls taking prey. Even though that is 100% an owl's job, I get some people don't find it their most appealing aspect. But that is nature for you...
Duck is delicious…
Yeah, out of all the things owls eat, this has got to be in the top 3. I do prefer mine with crispier skin than this, but all considered....
Man, owls aren't to fucked with.
These feet are made for smooshin'
That's just what they do
One of these days these feet are gonna make dinner out of you....
If you listen very closely at the moment of the strike, the Snowy says "yoink!"
I wouldn't put it past her. That'd be an owl's sense of humor....
