It would be hilarious if this was the final straw that prompted the GOP to abandon him.
Plenty of countries call it soccer or an equivalent as well. Just because they call it football in Europe where its more popular doesn't me we do as well.
EDIT: Found the map I was talking about.
It's not just Europe though, it's also Asia and South America and almost all of Africa :-)
That being said, I have no problem with just calling one of them football and the other one football. It's rarely a point of confusion, and certainly doesn't need to be a point of argument IMO.
Online, I tend to write football ⚽ and football 🏈, but most of the time it's probably not really necessary. I'm just glad we have two such great sports to enjoy 👍
