I mean, plagiarism is about presenting others’ ideas as your own. You can write an essay made up of exclusively the ideas of others and present it as a grand, unified theory of [ ], or grab some tasty niblets from the works of others to spice up your arguments. The idea that you are meant to singularly offer novelty to the professor (‘s assistant) who has read something exceeding your essay, possibly within the same hour, is silly. And yes, I realize that they’re being silly, but then, so am I in taking them seriously

Congratulations, anon.

The link between citing your sources, for why you're thinking what you're thinking, and not copy/pasting said sources, is in fact fairly smart. Almost intellectual.

Prof made anon think, so they became anti-intellectual

It's funny how conservatives have the same view about EVERYTHING they haven't experienced before. It's always scary and evil, no matter what it is. If butterflies were introduced to the Earth tomorrow you know they would be spreading memes about Satan's bugs or whatever the fuck.

I had that thought the other day about keys, as in like physical door keys. Essentially nobody has a problem with keys but if they were invented today at least 1/3 of the population would lose their shit and go around being like "OH SO I HAVE TO JUST CARRY THIS PIECE OF METAL AROUND WITH ME NOW?!?!?!?!?" and performatively dropping and losing them everywhere and posting TikToks of themselves crying because they can't get into their houses and shit like that.
