Pretty odd name for a restaurant -- it's a derogatory term to describe foreigners, like a Greek restaurant named "Barbaros".

So like a Mexican restaurant named gringos?
Or an American restaurant named Cracker Barrel?
Beaners
I guess so, although I feel like "gringo" has kind of transcended being offensive?
That’s neat! Does it make a difference that they would be the foreigners in my country? Like, are they making fun of themselves?
Edit:
noun: feringhee; plural noun: feringhees; noun: feringhi; plural noun: feringhis 1. DEROGATORY (in India and other parts of Asia) a foreigner, especially one with white skin.
Ha! The Navajo have a similar word “Belegana”. That is a weird name for a restaurant in Mormon town.
It seems to be a term directed at white people, so no, probably not... I don't speak Hindi, I just remember seeing the etymology of Ferengi a while back.
FERINGHEE - India, usually disparaging : a Eurasian especially of Portuguese-Indian descent

lol, they even have feringhee.com
It looks like a pretty decent menu, not just the usual BIR type stuff most places have that all tastes basically the same (not that I usually mind.)
I would definitely eat there if I were in town. Being called a pejorative would be a small price to pay for delicious Indian cuisine.
