ay mates lelkins here

today i forgot to post what i actually wanted, so here's another thing i wanted to post. this kinda counts as art but eh

EDIT: i forgot to mention, i use a modpack for this https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=RSLuGK0yHrw it adds optifine, a few extra things and even some tweaks for some annoying stuff. pretty good, can't play without it

i've been playing minecrap for many months, this is my world that i made back in the last few months of uni iirc? i forgot. it's almost a year old too. a few cool builds.

here's the temple of amy along with the recently made lelkins statue. yes, the amy build is based on the "temple of notch" thing from fvdisco. if you wanna know who amy is, she's one of my ocs (look at this post)

i have discovered a few redstone things like sethbling's random pulse generator and a rendition of etho's daylight sensor and i incorporated it to this build. ooh, and i added my favorite optical illusion too.

those things make amy blink and even sleep and i find it really really cool (had to wait for her to wake up just to take this picture. say hi!)

i have a beach-like zone location with a donut shop that was based on a childhood one i used to go to

meldora's residence (based on a 1.20 base i made a few months ago) along with a factory that generates sand and gravel. yes, another one of my ocs.

as you can see, i have a small railway because you can only walk in this version, pretty cool for all the train fans out there

a small shot of one of the references in the "reference desert" where i built the sonic 3 angel island, the aether portal, a recreation of the first ever mario pixel art documented in the history of minecraft and two shitty little memes.

the CREATOR MUSHROOM has cursed us with VILLAGE MUSHROOM. i recreated some of it, who forgets iconic characters such as OLDFATHER MUSHROOM, GARDENER MUSHROOM and TINKER MUSHROOM? i kinda do!

rate limit is fucking me over so i can't send more than a few images in a few minutes. just wait a little bit cause i have so much to show... like this bar i made!

or an island dedicated to a reference to weird al, which also has a fish ship!

(the island is named after a vinesauce joel reference)

i am so sorry that the experience is not good i really wish i can show everything but i still hope you all enjoyed this :D

Honestly great work mate :D

[–] lelkins@lemmygrad.ml 7 points 3 weeks ago

thank you! there's more to come sooner or later, who knows excluding me because i don't know either

[–] WellTheresYourCobbler@hexbear.net 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

These are so good and make me want to pull out my old world too

[–] lelkins@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

thank you so much! i treated this world more like a bonsai tree, more to calm myself down. kinda cringe description, but i find it soothing to just build shit and i am sorry that "yea, 's like a bonsai tree" came to mind right now lol

[–] WellTheresYourCobbler@hexbear.net 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I think the bonsai analogy is cute tbh it makes sense. I have a similar situation with my world where I would just log in and build a little thing even if I didn’t have anything in particular on my mind just because it was a nice way to relax.

i thought weeb shit was cringe but thank you

best version connoisseur i see, amazing, amazing

minecrap

berdly-smug

"temple of notch" thing from fvdisco

ABSOLUTE CLASSICO

[–] lelkins@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

"building bricks with minecrap is the best thing and most amount of fun you could possibly have while playing an app! what is the point of minecrap?"

i also built inspector gadget's hat to reference that video, it's in the reference desert to the right of angel island

ABSOLUTE CLASSICO (also i never tried quoting stuff like this, i usually just answer directly)

i grew up in the times when yogscast was the shit, i learnt the cake crafting recipe from one of their videos lol

So did I, but I was watching people like JJayJoker, skkf, blowek and other people from the Polish scene. I have a lot of nostalgia for beta 1.7.3 because I didn't like beta 1.8, but stil the hype for beta 1.9 pre-releases was something else seeing how it turned into 1.0.0. Real OGs remember green eyed endermen who dropped coal.

EDIT: It appears I was mistaken. They never dropped coal. Then why do I have a vivid memory of it?

[–] lelkins@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

i barely watched the romanian side of youtube in general, the minecraft vids from my country started showing up later in minecraft's lifespan but targeted the kid demographic more compared to the stuff i used to watch from the english places

i kinda remember the green eyes but i never played the betas as a kid, as i mentioned in a comment. i instead played minecraft ONCE in the browser and then rage quitted cause i got spawned in lava and i had the option to choose a more stylized texture pack somehow, it was in the minecraft dot net website

[–] Super_Lumalo@hexbear.net 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I remember Classic, kinda miss it seeing as it was a free way to play multiplayer. At least for building. Still Classicube kind of fills in that void for me nowadays

[–] lelkins@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 3 weeks ago

classicube is a foss sweep ngl

i installed it on my nieces' tablets and they love it. can't run minetest because those tablets run on old android 5 or something and it fucks up the font visibility, making the game unplayable

also that's all we can afford for them, second hand tablets that i add custom roms onto

[–] traxanh@hexbear.net 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Seeing your world gets me hype to play. But then all I do in minecrap is start a new world, punch a few trees, mine some stuff, build a crib, then leave it to die and let PrismLauncher gather dust on my Ubuntu desktop. Repeat.

boohoo I'm jealous of people who can enjoy it so easily; the only thing I ever truly enjoyed was playing minigames on servers

[–] lelkins@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

oh hey traxanh! haven't seen you in a while tbh

my tip is to not play to do stuff, sometimes it's nice to look at what you have accomplished. burning out sucks, even i have it. taking a break is always encouraged

thank you for your comment, i am not the kind who enjoys building this much even if i used to be a builder for a few small servers, but beta gives me less to work with but somehow more freedom even with these limitations

modern mc basically tells me indirectly "conquer this universe and become god". this mc tells me "hey you can build some stuff if you want, no rush :)", which is another reason why i went to this version of minecraft. i use a modpack but will send the link to it when i finish working

edit: done, still at work. just got some time

[–] traxanh@hexbear.net 3 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

I appreciate the tip. It's probably my OCD. catgirl-huh Never considered using an older version of minecrap, but I'll try it next time I get the itch to play. Will bookmark your modpack!

Also, cool to hear you used to be a builder for servers.

[–] lelkins@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 3 weeks ago

https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=RSLuGK0yHrw

here is the trailer for the modpack. requires multimc or its derivatives (prismlauncher especially) to use it

i will also add it in the post too

[–] MiraculousMM@hexbear.net 3 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Great work, lots of creative stuff here. I'm not too familiar with MC versions (I'm currently playing on retail Java), why did you choose the beta version you did?

[–] booty@hexbear.net 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

1.7.3 is the last version before the "adventure update" that added hunger and all kinds of shit. It's really the last version of "classic minecraft" to many people.

[–] comrade_pibb@hexbear.net 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

wasn't 1.7.3 the pistons update, that's when i started playing too

[–] lelkins@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 3 weeks ago

it was, yes

[–] lelkins@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 3 weeks ago

thank you, miraculousmm! i chose beta 1.7.3 because i saw some videos online of people just stating it's actually nice. and to be fair, those people are right when they say "choice paralysis", so many blocks god damn. oh and it doesn't have any full automation, everything is still done by you. i don't like going to fight the ender dragon, i like building but i also hate being left behind in a multiplayer setting lmao

i actually started my minecraft journey on the browser as a kid, by that i mean once because i spawned in lava and died :( so by that sentence alone, don't throw that "oh you like it cause of nostalgia" stuff at me

my first version was release 1.2.5 on a burned cd from my neighbor who used to play league of legends

beta 1.7.3 is a neat little challenge for building because there are no upside down stairs or anything cool like that

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Looks comfy. I never played minecraft, sandbox games really aren't my bag, but it looks nice to just stroll around.

[–] lelkins@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 3 weeks ago

thanks a lot! i sometimes just enter this world just to look at it, funnily enough!
