Deeply unpleasant combination. Like sensory nightmare almost. And when I scrub with pumice it exacerbates the poison oak rash and spreads the oils around.

the best and most effective advice i ever followed for getting absolutely covered in poison oak was to go strip naked on my porch, wipe my body down using a bucket filled with cold water and a little bleach mixed in using a sopping wet rag, and then stand in a cold shower for a while. and wash the clothes separately a few times or toss em.

that was to remove the oil though and minimize skin contact.

once you're got, you're got, and after the oil is out of the equation and its more about managing the reaction, the pain, and not irritating your skin further. so i would do a lot of cool showers and antihistamine type shit. no scratch/no scrub, etc. the pumice is probably not the move to make.

Normally I'll use dish soap in a cold shower for poison oak, which I find most effective. The bleach solution is an interesting idea though, perhaps I'll try it next time. The pumice is to get the encrusted engine grease off of my skin.

That’s a myth, the oil reacts with your skin once; once washed off, it doesn’t cause your body to generate more to spread to other body parts or people.

However, it the oils can remain on your clothing or anything that touched the plant so definitely clean thoroughly!

Try calamine lotion to ease the symptoms, get your doctor to give you a big dose of fexofenadine if they find it appropriate (this is the medical solution that stopped my 2 month long rash overnight), and just keep the bandages fresh. It will pass, and hey you might be mentally immune to itching sensations after. Like a little superpower.
