I think general pessimism about future would stop if people knew that pet raccoons await us in the future.

Someone tell those raccoons that being our pet is no guarantee that we won't fuck'em up. Just ask the dogs we breed them wildly and now they have genetic diseases

Those poor raccoons have no idea they’ve picked the wrong side. They’d have been better off adapting to moles and burrowing beneath our climate catastrophes.
