No it's pretty much the Reich. The early days of the 3rd reich have been heavily romanticized, but it really wasn't any more competent or well executed than what we're seeing here.

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 65 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Pretty much this. The early years of the Nazis also looked like heavily armed thugs destroying the apparatus of state and assaulting "wrong" people in the streets, mostly communists and other leftists.

And disabled/gay/trans people

[–] Flamekebab@piefed.social 48 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

The acceptance of the notion of a competent third reich is the biggest victory the Nazis ever achieved. Bunch of in-fighting utter fuckheads.

No, its worse. It is a carefully researched political movement that figured out they can get their base riled up to attack 1% of the population and win.

Now they need a bigger enemy, so they target the 15-20% of hispanics.

[–] curbstickle@anarchist.nexus 10 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Let's go smaller. Like the top 0.01% of income/net worth.

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Indeed, that wouldnt really hurt anyone if you look at it from a purely mathematical perspective.

[–] curbstickle@anarchist.nexus 4 points 3 days ago

I'd even say it could result in some very tangible benefits for nearly the entirety of the population

No... they're ripping the copper out of the walls for the same reason why the meth-heads do it.

The crazy part is that they aren't even attracted to women in the first place.

[–] Beebabe@lemmy.world 25 points 4 days ago

I think a lot of them simply don’t like women as humans. As in, to them women are an appliance. And when it won’t fuck them or clean up after them or has an opinion the appliance is broken.

Oh I heard they wanna stick their dick in basically everything, especially kids and couches.

As a side note, this is why I think Bush was a worse president than Trump. Like, Trump is undoubtedly a worse person, but as a president I think he's a symptom, not a cause. Bush is the one who sold the doors and windows, and Trump is just the crackhead that inevitably climbed through the empty hole and started living on the couch.

Edit note: not saying Bush is a good person by any means, but he's not a pedophile or a rapist as far as I know.

A decent summary of the US government, yes, indeed.

Little girls, not women

Needs text alternative.Images of text break much that text alternatives do not. Losses due to image of text lacking alternative such as link:

  • usability
    • we can't quote the text without pointless bullshit like retyping it or OCR
    • text search is unavailable
    • the system can't
      • reflow text to varied screen sizes
      • vary presentation (size, contrast)
      • vary modality (audio, braille)
  • accessibility
    • semantic structure (tags for titles, heading levels, sections, paragraphs, lists, emphasis, code, links, accessibility features, etc) is lost
    • some users can't read this due to lack of alt text
    • users can't adapt the text for dyslexia or vision impairments
    • systems can't read the text to them or send it to braille devices
  • web connectivity
    • we have to do failure-prone bullshit to find the original source
    • we can't explore wider context of the original message
  • authenticity: we don't know the image hasn't been tampered
  • searchability: the "text" isn't indexable by search engine in a meaningful way
  • fault tolerance: no text fallback if image breaks.

Contrary to age & humble appearance, text is an advanced technology that provides all these capabilities absent from images.

The indoctrinated MAGA women want to fuck them, though.

Ah, your lemmy client is garbage: the default & official standard (lemmy-ui) doesn't do that.

[–] Vespair@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 days ago (2 children)

I'm getting the same on Thunder

[–] some_kind_of_guy@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

It renders fine for me in boost

[–] Doc_Crankenstein@slrpnk.net 1 points 2 days ago

Boost team!

Also nonstandard & great reason to switch or send a bug report/fix to your nonstandard software's developers.

Desktop, Vivaldi browser, Lemmy.zip; still seeing the weird broken comment.

That is the correct rendering: a details element then a p element. In HTML

<details><summary> Needs text alternative. </summary>
⁝
</details>
<p>The indoctrinated MAGA women want to fuck them, though.</p>

A control for the details element can expand or collapse its content. In what sense is this broken?

What a wordsmith. Facts!
