O’Brien has the best reaction at the beginning of this episode. He sees Q from a distance on the Promenade, says “Bloody hell,” turns around, and walks the other way.

I never ever thought about it, but…
Can a Q be put inside a transporter confinement beam?

Is O’Brien going to beam up a Q, store his powers in the buffer, then finishing beaming his leftover mortal coil to the holodeck with no safety protocols to fight to the death against Worf’s Skeletor? I want to say yes.
He'll make them fight in the beam while they're all hallucinating that worms are trying to kill them.
I think yes? The matter/ energy he creates (including the body he creates for himself when he visits our planes) appears to be real, regular matter, and should be convertible into energy or data or whatever and back again.
I think the real question is how the other edge cases and stuff around transporters work in his case.
When Q visits, hes not fully here, afaict, more like hes created and is piloting the body in our dimension.
Normal beings are not conscious between de and rematerialization. I think we can assume this isnt the case with Q, as his consciousness is still on the Q plane. But does he retain his link with his created form throughout the process, Experiencing the atom by atom transfer to energy and back? If not, does the link automatically return when the body is rematerialised, or does he have to reconect himself ?
The actual answer, of course, is it depends what is required by the plot.
Their powers don't appear to be limited by their physical form, and you do remain conscious while being transported, so it seems unlikely that you could trap one using the transporter. And that's without getting into the question of how much of the Q is the body vs how much is something else beyond that physical manifestation.
Just watched this episode for the first time today lol
Oh yeah baby, 480p!
