It was too ambitious and the economy wasn't able to make it happen. Still other projects such as Riyadh Metro were successful.

People believe this shit and it is wild. Osama Bin Laden was opposed to the Saudi government and living in exile having had his citizenship revoked many years before 2001 while he was still working with the CIA stirring shit up in Central Asia.
