I wonder what is the ratio of wet vs dry brushers.

The same sink I piss in? No thanks

[โ€“] helix@feddit.org 8 points 2 months ago

I wouldn't brush my teeth in the same shower I shit in either.

[โ€“] owenfromcanada@lemmy.ca 50 points 2 months ago (1 children)

In the sink like a sane person. How is brushing teeth in the shower saving you time?

[โ€“] kambusha@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Brush teeth during the pre-rinse cycle

[โ€“] dditty@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Yeah while I'm wetting my hair and while I'm washing the shampoo out of my hair

Y'all weird. I brush my teeth in my mouth.

[โ€“] abbadon420@sh.itjust.works 35 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You guys only brush you teeth under the shower?!
I think my dentist would get very mad at me if I only brushed my teeth during holidays.

[โ€“] dditty@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I brush in the shower in the morning and I'm the sink before bed

On the sink. Brushing in the shower sounds like one of those productivity hacks people who think efficiency is important do.

[โ€“] baldingpudenda@lemmy.world 18 points 2 months ago

Spouse does it, but they go goblin mode. Paste foam everywhere. I guess they find it fun.

[โ€“] ace_garp@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Keeps all the white toothpaste flecks off the mirror.

[โ€“] Pudutr0n@feddit.cl 5 points 2 months ago

You can umm... You can also clean it.

Why on earth would you brush your teeth in the shower??

[โ€“] SaraTonin@lemmy.world 20 points 2 months ago

Neither. I brush them whilst standing next to the sink.

[โ€“] ClassifiedPancake@discuss.tchncs.de 19 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Why would I brush them in the shower? Itโ€™s so much wasted water and you donโ€™t even save time wtf

[โ€“] redhorsejacket@lemmy.world 13 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I typically turn the water off if I'm brushing in the shower. Hop in, shampoo, rinse, apply conditioner, turn off water, brush teeth, scrub body, turn water on, rinse, done. Makes use of otherwise dead time I'd spend waiting for the conditioner to work, and is comfortable enough with the residual heat from the walls and steam.

[โ€“] ClassifiedPancake@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Ok that makes sense. Since I don't use conditioner I don't have any wait time in the shower.

[โ€“] ayush@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 months ago

I do the same thing as @redhorsejacket@lemmy.world - except I wait for shampoo to work. I read that shampoo takes 4-6 minutes to work. I then confirmed this with 2 dermatologists. This is especially important if someone is using anti-dandruff shampoo.

[โ€“] Godort@lemmy.ca 17 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I used to brush in the shower back in my early 20s. Then one time when I went to spit, it landed right on my dick.

Toothpaste is an unexpectedly uncomfortable feeling, so now it's sink only.

[โ€“] Pudutr0n@feddit.cl 12 points 2 months ago

Minty fresh though ...

Sink. I'd be wasting all that shower water I'm not actively washing with, or I'd be shivering with the water turned to a trickle. When I brush at the sink, I only need to wet the brush, and turn off the tap until I'm ready to rinse.

[โ€“] Vanth@reddthat.com 15 points 2 months ago

Sink. I brush my teeth twice a day. Brushing only when I shower would be revolting.

[โ€“] Bell@lemmy.world 14 points 2 months ago

Shower. I do it while the conditioner is "working".

[โ€“] daggermoon@lemmy.world 13 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Didn't realize the former is an option. Now I wanna try. This is like that time I realized I could just piss in the sink.

[โ€“] altima_neo@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 months ago

Or shit in the sink. There's even a subreddit for that.

In the sink, you barbarian!

[โ€“] GregorGizeh@lemmy.zip 13 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Shower in the morning, sink in the evening

Pros:

  • if you are in a rush you can save time by scrubbing yourself and brushing simultaneously
  • any spills are washed away immediately, leaves the sink clean of toothpaste splatter
  • you get to stand under the nice warm water for a few extra minutes instead of standing in front of the sink, staring at your tired self in the mirror while doing your brushing regimen

Cons:

  • apparently women don't really care for the concept so be aware of that lol

No, god no. I have plenty to do in the shower and not enough hot water.

[โ€“] altima_neo@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 months ago

Not to mention, where the hell do you put your toothbrush and stuff while you're lathering up with soap? I don't wanna get soap on my toothbrush.

[โ€“] Oberyn@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Shower. It's unconventional, but i like it

[โ€“] Pudutr0n@feddit.cl 5 points 2 months ago

Psychopath detected.

[โ€“] gerryflap@feddit.nl 10 points 2 months ago (3 children)

I've never even considered brushing my teeth under the shower? That seems unnecessary and impractical imo. I shower ever other day usually and I brush my teeth at least twice a day, but currently 4 times a day due to braces. I don't see how these 2 things align in terms of planning?

Sink. Brushing with warm water is disgusting.

[โ€“] Diddlydee@feddit.uk 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

[โ€“] altima_neo@lemmy.zip 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

The sink. It never occurred to me that people regularly brush their teeth in the shower until now.

I used to brush without wetting the toothbrush, but ever since I saw a fruit fly on my toothbrush, I've rinsed it off before using.

I keep a toothbrush and bottle of toothpaste in the shower because I have atrocious ADHD and that is the only place I ever remember to brush them. It's literally the one lifehack that I've tried that has actually worked. I've been doing it for a couple years now and I finally brush my teeth every day after struggling for my entire life.

[โ€“] blackbrook@mander.xyz 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Brushing your teeth in the shower is like leaving the water running while you brush in the sink, except even worse.

I brush at the sink, but use my waterpik in the shower 'cause it's too messy otherwise.

[โ€“] scott@lem.free.as 4 points 2 months ago
[โ€“] gwl@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 months ago

I mean, if I'm already showering, sometimes I'll brush whilst showering

But 99% of time, the sink

[โ€“] Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone 4 points 2 months ago

Shower for sure
