The receiving computer crashed as it couldn’t cope with the transmission speed of 5,000 characters per second.

Missing detail: Once everything had restarted, the next attempt at sending "LOGIN" began, effectively making the first three character sent over a computer network "LOL"

Wasn't the first successful exchange the college kids in Boston buying weed from the kids in UCLA?

It was definitely the first "online sale" but I'm not positive there wasn't a couple of exchanges first.

And the first webcam was to see if there was coffee
