Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Nah, he’ll stroke out by then

Henry Kissinger lived to be 100 years old. Ass holes live forever.

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 weeks ago

Yea but he weighs about as much as 3 Kissingers and obesity ruins your organs.

[–] Blooper@lemmynsfw.com 6 points 2 weeks ago

No fucking way. Given the GOP's streak the last decade or so, he's just a few days away from brain transplanting into some poor Guatemalan teenage boy they snatched off the street last week in Chicago.

I envy the lucky bastards in the timeline who were wiped out by nukes back in the 80's. Way better than circling back to Nazis.

I guarantee you his AI counterpart will rule on after his passing. We will probably not even know until they’ve mobilized the military to squash any hope of being released from trumps reign.

Won't the next pres nominally be sworn in on Jan 2029? So as long as Trump keeps a pulse, he'll be pres in 2028. F bannon, but that's a dumb headline

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 26 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah these idiots are trying to admit to treason and still failing

[–] pennomi@lemmy.world 11 points 2 weeks ago

That’s not what the article is claiming. Bad headline, but Bannon specifically said he’s going for a third term.

Just to be clear, these are the same assholes who spent four years complaining (correctly) that Biden was too old to be President?

Not that this fact would persuade a single one of them to stop being an ass. Hypocrisy is a feature for fascists, not a bug.

You mean his golden corpse will be symbolically made to represent the glorious leader for all eternity?

The emperor of man sitting on his throne

The beginning of the Trump genetic dynasty. They've got three younger clones brewing in the Pentagon basement.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

They'll just make a rule that each new dictator has to adopt the name Donald J^esusfuckingmakeitstop^ Trump.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 18 points 2 weeks ago

The secret ingredient is cheating.

[–] 0li0li@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago

No concepts of a plan?

[–] bamboo@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Probably they'll push Donald Trump Jr on the ballot to get idiots to think they're voting for the old fuck, and use him in name only.

Also being pedantic, of course Trump is going to be president in 2028, his term ends on January 20th, 2029 (if he isn't removed from office or not alive before then)

[–] Archer@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

I suppose it’s technically not as bad as Eric

[–] rosco385@lemmy.wtf 5 points 2 weeks ago

His mate Vlad has given him some ideas. Will he step down to VP but keep his power?
