Some righ-leaning outlets have also declined to sign the document. “Newsmax has no plans to sign the letter,” the network told the New York Times reporter Erik Wemple. “We are working in conjunction with other media outlets to resolve the situation. We believe the requirements are unnecessary and onerous and hope that the Pentagon will review the matter further.”

Well that clears up the question if right and left outlets will share sources and news.

Maybe Hegeth should just stop whining like a spoiled child when news outlets refuse to be bullied into obeying his fascist dogma.

I would bet Newsmax leadership is actually fine with it, but realizes their viewer base would immediately lose trust in them, which is not fine (for them).

Hey, bending to the pressure of the public instead of the pressure of the government is still the WAY better choice here, and it's good to see any media outlet taking that choice (against facism).

That's extremely good

The rare W, let's take a moment to appreciate that there is at least 1 thing we have in common and perhaps work towards finding out there happens to be more still than we might have realized. I swear not all 'conservatives' are bad, just the same as not all 'liberals' are good.

I have a customer who's got a fading maga hat who i found out is not long for this world. He put it to me the other day: "I'm not exactly buying green bananas these days" when describing his outlook for the future and i can't let go of that moment. I've known him for years and any time he's needed my help I've always done my best for him and his wife, and they always genuinely appreciated it. We've had many enjoyable conversations about various things out on their back porch. Really nice people. Even the most recent job was something i wasn't explicitly familiar with but i went for it because of who they are. I really feel like there are boundaries between a lot of us that will not be crossable, especially for those at the extremes of the spectrum. Still, I think there's a lot more common-sense folks on both sides that would vote for a 3rd party a-la Bernie that could overtake the D/R divide but the whole thing is so ridiculously gamed at this point that it's beyond the realm of possibility. I'm just blathering incoherently at this point, but i hope something meaningful got through, lol.

Way back when (35+ yrs ago) I remember reading an article that told a story about how passionate Venetians were about their opera. Men would gather at local shops to discuss the most recent performances and it sometimes got very heated. But the next day they would do the same thing ... the previous day's conflicts all but forgotten.

I often think about that when my own opinions and passions sometimes fail to respect the other person's opinions ... and that yesterday's feelings likely have little to do with today's.

This straight off of Goebbels desk, or..?

Good news but those media companies (all of them) are out of control, glorifying hate for dollars.

The big ones are probably just after their "cut" of the deal, the smaller ones who might want to actually serve the public and truth will probably be harassed into compliance or shut down. 🤔😔

Anyone still not accepting that fascism has arrived in America, ushered in by conservatives, probably also needs help tying their shoes.

It's here folks. We are in it.

It has been here for a long time. This doesn't mean things can't get worse, but we have to recognize most of this behavior is just par for the course.

The reason I say this is electing someone from the Democratic Party is not suddenly going to fix this.

We have been a hostile imperialist and fascist nation since before I was born.

They refuse in rhetoric but agree in practice as they have always done.
