My kindergartner told me her favorite part of the day is when we do homework together 🥰

My partner and I have succeeded in incepting a love for The Nightmare Before Christmas with our 2yo. They love it. We love it. This Is Halloween is our theme music everywhere. They want to be Sally for Halloween, which I’m already here for.

Gymnastics are really helping 4yo Fish get out of their shell. They look forward to going every weekend. There’s two Russian rhythmic gymnast twins we watch on YouTube who are an inspiration for them.

Both of them are turning up their art game too. I recently got them a little potters wheel. That’s been fun teaching them how to throw.

Oo little potter's wheels? That sounds fun! I'd be learning with them.

My girlfriend has been singing a song to the kids that goes like this:

Bee bee bumblebee can you sing your name for me? Your name is...

One of my kids loves singing but just condenses it to:

Bee bee bumblebee What your name?

And you have to answer correctly. Like, I can't say my name, I have to answer 'Dad'. Also, you can't do it to him, you sing the song and ask him what his name is and he just goes 'Nooo, not my name.'

Both kids were singing it last night and they just reduced it to 'Bumblebee your name!'

It's so interesting seeing what they get attached to and what makes it through the baby mind filter

My oldest loves listening to music in the car and loves to sing to the music. She's quite good at picking up the lyrics, but it's really funny listening to what she thinks the lyrics are. Sometimes it she doesn't know the words she'll just be singing a song she makes up instead. I've been fooled at least once into thinking she was singing something she learned at school, only for the song to get real weird when she ran out of ideas lol.

There is this Tiktok duo that make modern nursery rhymes that she would sing in the same way you describe, where it is just condensed down in funny ways.

He likes wheels on the bus so out of nowhere you'll just hear him sing "All day long" and only that part.

Or he'll sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and get stuck on "like a diamond in the sky" and just sing that part over and over. He doesn't mind at all

When I was told that "Kids bring germs home from school, that's just part of being a parent 🤪 !" I was expecting the common cold a couple times per year, not a full-blown bacterial pneumonia lung infection.

This is day 7 of being almost entirely bed-ridden. Thankfully I am now on antibiotics and seem to be slowly, sloooowly healing.

Fuckin kids dude ohnoes

first thing kids should do when they get home from school is wash their hands

the first vomiting and diarrhoea sickness will change you forever

Our kids have been in daycare since 6month old and I fell like their systems are built like a fortress now. I've been working in schools for a while so my system is usually pretty resilient, but those daycare bugs were a whole other beast!

Hello friends.

This weekend we officially kinda split our house into two and my husband moved all his stuff downstairs. It sounds worse than it is. He is actually pretty loud in the mornings so this might help me wake up less. He wants a space where I don’t move his things and I want a space where he doesn’t leave things laying around for days.

Anyways, it’s vacation week and we are going to Omaha, apparently they have a great zoo there. I am excited :)
