Star trek enterprise. Started awesome then once you got invested they changed it

Farscape, started good, ended legendary.

Stargate: SG1

That's my holy trio

[–] RangerAndTheCat@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

Enterprise I’ll never forgive them for that trickery

[–] BootLoop@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 days ago

I love how our first thought is the Enterprise theme. I loved it every time I heard it until it got changed.

Bojack Horseman theme was great each and every time I heard it.

Enterprise intro: Trash, always trash.

Farscape: Skip.

SG-1: Also surprisingly trash intro. Show is 10/10. Intro 1/10.

What kind of human being are you to skip the farscape intro?

[–] Linktank@lemmy.today 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'm implying that the entire show is a skip.

[–] lugal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Even worse. The show is great

[–] Linktank@lemmy.today 1 points 2 days ago

Watched SG-1 first and couldn't handle the horrific downgrade.

Just wait till you try to watch Charmed on a streaming channel (Pluto, Roku) and realize they changed the theme song. It's an entirely different song.

Side note: I've never seen the lyrics in writing, and always assumed that they were saying "I am the sun, I am the air." Y'know, cause they're magical.

[–] IcedRaktajino@startrek.website 11 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

always assumed that they were saying "I am the sun, I am the air." Y'know, cause they're magical.

In the original by The Smiths and the Love Spit Love cover (used in the show), the lyrics are both officially "son" and "heir", but the way they chopped up the song for the theme, they very well could have played on those being homophones such that the "theme" lyrics actually are "sun" and "air".

Basically backing up the premise of the show which was balancing magic and life.

I am the sun and the air [I'm magical]
I am human and I need to be loved [I'm also a person with a life]

At least that was always my take. Though I'd heard the original Smiths version before the show aired.

OTOH, The Craft ALSO used the Love Spit Love cover but without chopping it up, so maybe they assumed "sun" and "air" like most of us.

UGH. They did that with House. Replaced Massive Attack with some generic bullshit

What’s your favourite version? Since they rearrange it every few years.

[–] CaptPretentious@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

8th or 9th for me. 8th just feels epic. But I started Doctor Who on Netflix with Chris, so the 9th is nostalgic for me.

[–] BurntWits@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago

I also started with 9th, haven’t watched the original series yet. But I just got the first season so I’ll be watching it soon. I want to watch all of it.

Take my love, Take my land, Take me where I can not stand …

[–] minkymunkey_7_7@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Tbf it only had like 12 episodes.

Yeah but I’ve watched the whole series like at least five times.

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (3 children)

This thread is full of intros that I have no idea what they are. What show has 12 episodes? Getting that millennial FOMO

[–] ikidd@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Watch Firefly and Serenity afterwards, you're welcome.

I'll save this and check

Welcome to today’s lucky ten thousand! Like everyone has said the show is Firefly and it awesome

[–] multifariace@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I wish the shows I like had more than 50 episodes.

[–] minkymunkey_7_7@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

What's the story Wishbone?

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi intro song both seasons 🙌🤘

I’ve loved both of Dandadan’s intros too. They were both extremely creative in their own ways.

[–] Itd4n@ani.social 2 points 2 days ago

Upvote for first anime reference. I really don’t have a favorite (anime opening). There’s just so many good ones that I can’t decide.

3D world? Definitely Firefly.

Its basically the reason people think The Big Bang Theory is a good show. The brain makes stupid associations like "repetition = familiar = good = funny".

[–] FenrirIII@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

X-Men is the best

[–] CatsPajamas@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 days ago

TIL it's not, "I am the son. I am the air."

So no one tooold you it was gonna be this waaaaay

👏 👏 👏 👏 👏

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

I'll toss in Babylon 5 for a recommendation.

[–] 0_o7@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You guys listen to intro songs? 🤷‍♂️

[–] bstix@feddit.dk 5 points 3 days ago

Listen to? No, I worship it.

The sitcom themes from the 70s and 80s are the dopest shit ever composed.

Theme from Taxi

[–] ComfortableRaspberry@feddit.org 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

That song kept on giving, Charmed not so much imho

Whattt? You mean you didn't like it either when they turned it in to "We have Harry Potter at home" ?

[–] NutinButNet@hilariouschaos.com 3 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

I wouldn’t say it was my favorite, but I watched all of Suits and I fucking hated that theme. I couldn’t get up quickly enough to skip it.

Most of the songs in that show, I couldn’t stand.

Compare that to now rewatching Samurai Champloo and I can’t get enough of this theme and all the music throughout the show. Except that one lady doing the really weird singing that sounds really off key lol

[–] rbos@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 days ago

Gravity Falls.

nııııııııı nı nı-nı nı. nını nın nı nın nı nın nı

[–] Signtist@bookwyr.me 2 points 3 days ago

I only listen to it once during the show itself, then skip it every subsequent time. If I liked it enough on the first listen I'll add it to my playlist like any other song I like.

[–] bless@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 days ago

Doesn't describe Peacemaker. Absolute bangers, both of them 🤘
