Was that also the first day the age "verification" thing went into effect?
It's almost impossible to match the heat and passion of closeted Republican man on man action.
Not to be a killjoy, but my understanding is that, because of type of crowd the event was expected to draw, there were warnings in the community to not engage, stay home, and stay safe.
As amusing as it is to imagine a bunch of closeted MAGA folk showing up and overloading Grindr, there was also a mini queer lock-down going on and folks that might have otherwise been out and about, suddenly found themselves with free time to twiddle their thumbs or whatever.
This isn't a singular incident however. This has also happened at the RNC the last 2 years. And I'm sure there have been smaller issues throughout that happen to coincide with events but didn't get media attention. The RNC is widely known ahead of time and not a pop-up event like the Kirk Memorial Grift Basket.
Once is chance, twice is coincidence, three times is a pattern.
It seems like a pretty big leap to assume the normal population of the city was able to overload something that's used to dealing with them on a regular basis.
Ew. Allies need to speak to their gay friends about the nastiness of having sex with conservatives. That's just gross. Friends don't let friends drive drunk, so allies shouldn't... Yeah you get it.
If I were there and a gay man, i don't know if I could keep silent about who I find on that app. Who wanted to hook up. Ect.
