I agree. I don't care what her reasoning is.

A Pacific States of America would be able to effectively defend itself and would be one of the largest economies in the world. It would be able to make progress on climate change and would have better corporate and banking governance. It would be more accountable to its citizens. It could feed its own citizens through agriculture.

Let the Northeast split off as well. Form a mutual defense pact with the Pacific States. Ban propagandist media like Fox News in those countries and leave the citizens of the remaining so-called United States to let themselves be manipulated into poverty and serfdom.

Does this mean they think they are going to lose it again and wants to ensure they get to keep half?

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Indeed, with the Nazi-US GeStaPo roaming and randomly arresting, the USA is no longer safe. The MAGA States of America can keep them, so that normal people can live in peace.

[–] BanMe@lemmy.world 17 points 3 days ago

In that the two biggest calls for a split are from Elon and this hag, I'm going to say it's not in our best interests and work against it.

Oh, suddenly it's not safe for everyone when one of their own gets killed...

It's not safe partly because this treasonous little troll hasn't kept her mouth shut for the past dacade.

I like the idea of red and blue splitting up. Let's see how long those shit holes take to fester and rot from within. Red states are nothing but a drain. Fuck em.

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Red states already suck and Texas oil isn’t about to solve that problem for the rest of them. They’d crumble immediately.

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago (6 children)

Unfortunately, the hypothetical blue nation would have a food problem, especially if some red parts of blue states go over. Both such countries would have serious issues.

[–] v_krishna@lemmy.ml 13 points 3 days ago (2 children)

West coast would be fine. California grows over 50% of the fruits and nuts, and 30% of the vegetables for the entire US. The "farm belt" states mostly grow cash crops for animal feed, energy production, and overseas export.

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

But how would eastern California go? I feel like if states were breaking from the nation, that eastern California is risky to go with the red half.

People in economically productive cities: "does this mean we can do a gun control?"

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 3 days ago (4 children)

And stop sending our tax revenue to unappreciative red states who just take take take, and then whine about it while offering nothing of value.

If the US balkanized along party lines, it wouldn't even be months before they revert to a scavenger society carrying out raids on border towns, and begging bleeding hearts in blue cities for charity.

She's right. It's not safe. Good thing her side gets all the deep red, gun-loving terrorists who've committed all of the recent atrocities. I'm sure her new country will be really safe with all those people in it.

[–] Sunflier@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago* (last edited 23 hours ago)

Nah. I personally am enjoying watching the Republican farmers suffer. It is cathartic to see them cry. It is a sliver of joy in my heart to watch them beg. Afterall, this is what they voted for.

[–] MushuChupacabra@lemmy.world 24 points 3 days ago (2 children)

That always works in horror movies to boost safety: let's split up!

[–] Ironfist79@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

We'll sacrifice the weakest states to survive.

I just don't understand how she sees this happening. We get the cities and they get the farms? She's such an idiot.

Pakistan and Palestine would like to weigh in

[–] peaceful_world_view@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Oh, then they could have a real war instead of a civil war, diabolical.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago (18 children)

Do it.

Blue states can grab the popcorn and watch red states cannibalize themselves.

But conservatives will use the federal government to go to war to keep the blue states....because they need us.

We don't need them.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Split into the conservative leecher states and the progressive earner states? How will they finance their new conservative utopia? Hate only feeds you that long...

[–] nanoswarm9k@lemmus.org 6 points 2 days ago

slavery, then war, more enslaving, more war. repeat.

[–] prototact@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago

Careful what you wish for.

[–] Zaraki42@lemmy.ca 8 points 3 days ago (4 children)

Canada could annex the blue states and turn them into provinces...
