Some ground-rules:

Routine for reference:

AM: rinse, sunscreen (that online moisturisers enough) PM: cleanse, sometimes BHA (tried varying the frequency), retinol, moisturise

I've become frustrated because I still get clogged pores, every single pore on and beside my nose is black, my entire chin is white gooey pores. So I eased off and put the BHA and retinol on hiatus, and the painful cystic pimples came back, along with even more clogged pores. I really need them gone to keep me from picking at my skin.

So, anyone else been there?

Anyone got any tips? Yes, I wash my pillowcases, sleep enough, drink enough (if anything too much) water, eat well.

I tried the whole only rinsing in the morning thing and my aesthetician convinced me to start washing my face both am and pm again. She was right. This helped with clogging. I think the one a day isn’t for everyone.

The biggest thing for me personally has been water quality. Have you tried shower head filter and maybe a tap filter? I don’t know what water quality is like where you live but could be something to look into.

Cleansing twice made me dry and flaky. My water is excellent, but it might be too hard, I'll look into that!

You might need a cleanser doesn't strip your skin as much.

It's the gentlest I've been able to find! Says ultra sensitive, barrier protecting, pH balance

Have you tried weekly masks? Either clay masks, or the sticky kind that dries then you pull it off?e.l.f. makes a good one that's cheap.

Clay seems to do a little bit, but not much, but I haven't used the sticky kind in a bit, so maybe I'll treat myself!
