So she realized it...

Commented on it, accepted the workers answer, went thru with it...

And is now talking to lawyers on if she can sue because she knew a camera was present and went ahead with it.

Like....

I know she's an "influencer" and they're typically not the brightest. But if there was a concern she might be recorded the time to do something about it was between when she realized there was a camera and when she disrobed.

What's the lawsuit going to be now?

I knew there was a camera, but I did it anyways

She's not "raising awareness" because she thinks people need to know. She thought she scored an easy payday, found out she can't, and is now chasing clout instead.

Or maybe she succumbed to the societal training of women to be polite and go along, plus the woman's assertion they were prescription, plus she was already naked, prepped and in the middle of the waxing process when she noticed. At least that's what the article says, I'm not clicking on the tiktoks. It's well established a person can "shut down" rather than fight or flight in such a situation. And it even says she doesn't want the woman fired if she wasn't filming.

My question is, how does a Brazilian Wax employee afford Meta Glasses?

And let's be fair, this isn't just a "woman" thing either. I'm a guy and I've been in plenty of situations where I felt socially pressured into saying, accepting or doing something that I later wished I hadn't.

If the glasses-woman had said she was recording, that would have been a blessing, and easy grounds to reject. But she said she wasnt, and also that the glasses were prescription. You can hardly ask someone to remove their glasses when they've told you they're prescription, right? You'd be an asshole for that.

It all put the customer in a very difficult position where their hand was forced.

The glasses only cost $350, so they're not out of reach for most people.

And if they are prescription, they are now a medical device, not just a toy, and they might be covered under health insurance

I think I must have grew up with women; have been around women; and raised my girls; that never heard of this women should be polite in society stuff.

There's no way any of them would just accept something they were against.

Is that common elsewhere?

I'm a woman and certainly got it. Some from my parents but mostly from society as a whole. We were all taught politeness but it was only reinforced for the girls, except for token rules like who opens doors or walks through first, or boys being shamed for hitting a girl. Which implies it's okay for them to hit other boys even if it's not spelled out, doesn't it? In fact ,most of the time these expectations aren't even spelled out as such, but for instance are there even rules for girls about hitting? Or is it just assumed that girls don't hit, because they're good girls or ladies, or if they're bad and do hit, it won't really hurt anyone because they're weak. Both of which are toxic.

Tbf, I'm pretty ancient. But behavior considered assertive and ambitious in men is still seen as bitchy and pushy in women, especially things like seeking a raise or promotion or presidency.

Also. You all know better than to piss off the people who prepare and serve your food. How much more aren't you going to anger the person about to rip off your pubic hair? They've literally got you by the short and curlies!

OP, I just noticed your text says she was getting a "perfunctory" wax, I assume that's a typo. A pubic wax is far from perfunctory. You certainly wouldn't want the tech doing a perfunctory (or angry) job of it, done wrong it can cause torn labia.
