Warhammer 40k
A community dedicated to the universe of Warhammer 40k, a tabletop setting in the far, distant future.
This is a general community for 40k miniatures, art, lore discussion, and gameplay discussion.
Rules
- Keep it civil.
- No memeposts/shitposts. Memes are great but direct them to grimdank.
- Please mark any posts containing realistic nudity or realistic excessive gore/violence as NSFW; this rule mainly applies to cosplay and realistic drawings rather than miniatures. Being that 40k is inherently violent, this is a judgement call, and mods may occasionally request posters add tags.
- No contemporary politics, no political debates. This is a space to enjoy the hobby and get away from the doomscrolling.

Awesome!! 11/10 for Tsons
These look fantastic, you've done a great job!!! The finish looks so smooth, but the depth and solidity of the blue and yellow is what really sells it. Also the black lining on those helmets 🤘 how did you do that so neatly??
Thanks! I feel like they could be cleaner but at a certain point you just have to call it done.
The black lining is Drakenhof Nightshade shade paint brushed around the edges of the blue armor right against the gold trim. After the shade I paint over it again with Thousand Sons Blue to make sure there's only a tiny bit of shading next to the trim instead of a big stain over the whole blue panel.
I mostly followed this guide: https://www.goonhammer.com/how-to-paint-thousand-sons-the-games-workshop-method/
really nice work
