Hey, democratic party, you see that? Maybe actually standing for left stuff instead of continuously going more right to appease people who would never vote for you anyway actually works?

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 20 points 3 days ago

They're in it to please their sponsors, not the electorate. Most corporate Democrats are perfectly happy to let the far right take over.

[–] Stovetop@lemmy.world 25 points 3 days ago

Not to say you're wrong, but do not trust these numbers at all. This is just Fox News scaremongering their base to believe the "socialist threat" is imminent and motivate more of them to hit the polls to vote R.

[–] Gerudo@lemmy.zip 11 points 3 days ago

I'd say this is more the crowd who votes for change, like the ones who voted Trump and AOC on the same ballot. Still stands to show Dems need to move left if they want any chance.

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago

They're going to ignore it and move to the right.

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 8 points 3 days ago

But they don't want leftist policy, they want to make money and the right gives them that.

This man looks like the antagonist's hecnhman in a low budget 90s movie. This man looks like his only line was "yeah, boss, tell em!". This man looks like he meets a cartoonish end in act 3 after the hero riles him up by questioning his strength.

In 1992, Sliwa admitted that he and the Guardian Angels faked heroic subway rescues for publicity. He also admitted to having claimed falsely that three off-duty transit police officers had kidnapped him. Sliwa explained at the time his stunts were intended to underscore the dangers of the subways.

This wasn't a Fox News poll, this was a Siena poll, which as far as I can tell is actually a reputable source for poll numbers.

https://sri.siena.edu/2025/08/12/hochul-approval-favorability-ratings-up-a-little-hochul-lead-over-stefanik-in-2026-race-falls-to-14-points-45-31-from-23-points-47-24-in-june-voters-say-if-stefanik-runs-is-elected-g/

You can find all these specific numbers in the crosstab if you care to.

It's also "among conservatives" and with Fox News viewers, an implied, but incorrect assumption that they are the majority. Well, maybe NYC is mostly conservatives, but if they were actually confident, they wouldn't feel the need to be weasely about things.

Thanks for the correction I'll update the title.

wtf you guys got a guy with a beret in the run?

[–] Cricket@lemmy.zip 15 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He's THE guy with a beret. Look him up. He founded the "Guardian Angels", who volunteered to patrol New York against crime back in the 70s/80s(?). Vigilantes? Their "uniform" included a red beret.

[–] mateofeo85@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Raspberry beret. The kind you find in a second hand store.

[–] Cricket@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Haha, "she wore a raaaspberry be-ret"

[–] pulsewidth@lemmy.world 28 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The 9% of New Yorkers that still think that Eric Adams is their best option amaze me.

But then again, Trump. Twice. There are many idiots.

[–] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 17 points 3 days ago

This is 9% of conservatives.

WONT SOMEBODY THINK OF THE FREELOADING CHILDREN??

[–] ZMoney@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It says a lot when racist Batman gets 40%. The NY mayoral race has always been a circus, so I'm not celebrating Zohran's victory yet.

[–] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 7 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

The Republican candidate polls at 40% among conservatives.

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

(Cuts to visibly angry Fox host) "That 23% is a Democrat LIE! Those are fake conservatives! Obama planted them there! BE ANGRY!"

[–] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

I was unaware fox still had hosts. I thought trump hired them all.
