I talked it with Gemini, to be clear about english language. Today, I asked him(it?):

how to say "primo" and "prima" in english?

This AI machine replied:

Only "cousin" for both. Also, cousin is applied in all orders: first-order, second-order...

Obviously, "SURPRISE" is a small word to describe it.

Really??? I undestand that, maybe, they don't have interest in cat sex, but... in persons??? Such a carelessness with language!

I continued. Gemini said (in spanish):

The root is in antique french "cousin" and "cousine" but they lossed the gender in english.

I asked him if I can use "cousine", at least, to compensate it. I went far away, saying:

I don't want to suffer with these anti-gender sillinesses of Yanquis, can I use "cousine"?

Gemini response:

No. "Cousine" is not english word. Native persons will believe that you are wrong and will fix it

"FIX"? OH, MY GOD! 😂 I can't do it anymore. I swear I'm trying.

Habit? We NEED this gender to understand. When you have a strong-gendered language you are "translating" (house = casa, dog = perro? perra?). Your mind enters into confusion. It's not possible for me "to think in english".

To put it another way, you can use the word 'Cousine' but everyone will hear 'Cousin' and still not know the gender of the cousin to whom you are referring.
