My daughter lives near a major airport runway, in the same neighborhood as a US Congressman. It isn’t his main house, but his horses are there.

So since he bought the place several years ago, ALL flights that once used this airspace have been drastically diverted to fly a giant loop about ten miles out. He and his horses don’t like that noise.

If the river can be raised it often may be done for simply moving items on the river. Nothing unusual here. Lake dropped 2 inches to raise the depth 2ft for a short time.

I wouldn't be too surprised if there's a process if needed and maybe a fee. It's fairly common on canals where barges may be carrying larger items which increase draft.
