I haven't heard a better idea in a long time. Only problem is it might need more than one show to tie up all the endings for a lot of shows.

Counter-pitch: WIDE OPEN, for shows that had a solid ending, good or bad. Still one episode each. Set up an ongoing premise and leaving the audience wanting more. Demonstrate how you can always build on what's been established... so would showrunners please fuck off with unfinished stories? It doesn't work and it wouldn't matter. Netflix is not giving you a third season. They just aren't. Have the self-respect to admit it, and write a damn ending.

Andor only exists because its movie finale came first. Everyone friggin' died, and they still made multiple seasons about it.

As an April Fools episode they could do Lucifer.

Yeah but make it actually good.

Start with involving as many original cast members as possible, whenever possible.

This could be done as a fanfic table read podcast.

netflix is that anthology. recently blood of zeus and sandman is cancelled(despite neil gaimans allegations its most likely cost and low vierwership from other sources), BOZ is the same situation.

Technically a nice idea but I think you could be 100% assured that the plot lines would look like they were written by AI.

The Pirates of Dark Water.

Please. For fuck's sake. Please just complete this part of my childhood.

They set out and started an adventure that should have been many many seasons, but one day I went to watch it and it was just gone.

As a kid I had no ear on the ground about shows getting canceled and back in the 90s I don't think anybody really did.

It's like if it was DBZ and they got the dragon ball locators to revive Goku after he died and they collected like 3 of them and then they just stopped airing it.

I honestly have never gone back and watched Pirates of Dark Water, and it's probably trash, but I will never forget about how I was so invested in a story as a kid and it just... Stopped.

It was gone like a fart in the wind.

The SNES beat em up was also super difficult and not that good. It seemed like an idea that was built around sucking up quarters at the arcade, but apparently it want popular enough.

Fucking Pirates of Dark Water, man... I will never forget.

I also think it would be cool if there was a show, where each time it ended the characters and situation was kind of - back to how things were at the start.... So no more Netflix style season long arcs. You know, just have each episode be sort of, like a self contained adventure.

Netflix

episodic arcs are part of trek, not nutrek, which is totally different. while developing an underlying subplot that builds up to some episode.

Episodic. Like everything was before Lost.
