It will never not be funny to me that the way to get 'Muricans onboard with a surveillance state is to make them pay a corporation for it agony-shivering

Guaranteed in 5 years Ring Cam will offer a differential price model where it's half price if you allow the police to have your feed in real time doomjak

Also from canvassing I can tell you people with ring cams in my city are rich psychopaths who, when they want any treat, they just press a button online that starts a Rube Goldberg machine of human misery so it gets brought straight to their doorstep. Normal workers do not have those (where I live).

As a delivery person, can confirm. The amount of them that will order something and then act super suspicious when someone shows up with the things that they specifically requested someone bring to them is almost hilarious

Like their Kindle e-readers, cheaper with ads

An Amazon surveillance state that you pay for and opt into? I can't wait for Dems to get mad about this and then never do anything to get rid of it

i think they could request the feed for court stuff, but not live stream it?

[–] Azarova@hexbear.net 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

i thought police could already get footage from these and Ring would approve every request?

also btw your link is fucked up because there's half a hexbear link in front of it

The link is fucked up because it doesn't contain https://

Someone thought it be a great idea that links without https:// be assumed to be internal links jesse-wtf and so it prepends the domain
