Wasps are having a good year following a cooler summer in 2024 - truly devastating news.

They are the second most disliked insect, bug or creepy-crawly in the UK, after the spider

Madness - clearly the mosquito should be number one (which spiders eat).

You got no ticks over there?

[–] Deebster@infosec.pub 2 points 1 month ago

Yes, but I got a tick once (when survival camping) vs thousands of bites from mosquitoes.

We don't have mosquitoes in the UK

I don't understand, am I missing the joke? We have 36 species in the UK, including the invasive tiger mosquito and the London Underground mosquito.

Could they not

Yeah they seem to be everywhere at the moment.

I’ve been finding myself more ambivalent towards wasps lately, and aside from vaguely flailing my arms at them I’ve been mostly leaving them alone. Oddly, dying ones keep appearing in my loft - starting to wonder if they’re getting poisoned somewhere nearby, but why they choose to die in my loft is another question.

Unfortunately. I was hoping they'd die out.

More for me to kill.

I hate them.
