I think Iโ€™m going to bail on that 1st birthday this weekend. The only people I know at this birthday are the parents and theyโ€™re going to be busy socialising with everyone, and Iโ€™ll probably feel awkward in this setting being childless. Iโ€™ll just message the day before that Iโ€™m sick and donโ€™t want to spread germs. Does this make me a bad friend? Iโ€™ll plan a catch up with this friend in a few weeks and still give a present then.

Not a bad person. Iโ€™ve skipped plenty of kids parties for similar reasons. Was fine.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 6 points 2 days ago

It's ok. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Took the Minipeelers to Highpoint today and had a fun time topping up our supply of trackpants, T-shirts and other things that were not so practical lol. Some Lush products were purchased and bathing indulged in once we got home. The house smells a treat!

I need that fucking cable I've been saving for probably 8 years and never used and I can't find it anywhere.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck

Edit: I'm going to go buy one and I know I will remember where it is when I get home.

It's a 3.5mm extension cable. To go from the drum kit to the audio interface.

[โ€“] Catfish@aussie.zone 6 points 2 days ago

You rationalised it in the last house move

[โ€“] Pilk@aussie.zone 5 points 2 days ago

I just dropped all of mine off for recycling, so I can't help, sorry.

[โ€“] tone212_@aussie.zone 5 points 2 days ago

I have a draw of very tangled cables collected over the years. Iโ€™m sure I have one of everything by now but digging through there is not fun.

Going to see if I can finish I watching The last of us Season 1 tonight.

Then Iโ€™ll start making my way through Andor.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Last of Us was just amazing , I totes recommend

I haven't seen Andor yet.

[โ€“] Duenan@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Stopping at season 1 though.

Past few nights Iโ€™ve done a few movies, Thunderbolts, Heads of State and the Amatuer.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

season 2 seems to have lost the plot, I watched the first 2 episodes and just did not care for it

[โ€“] Duenan@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I experienced some of the story from season 2 from the game. It didnโ€™t sit well with me to be honest and I heard the tv show has some problems in season 2

I had a spot of cleaning mojo and vacuumed and mopped the floors. I now have nice clean floors but the kitchen's too wet to go in and make a cuppa. Boo.

[โ€“] SituationCake@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Please, how do I catch cleaning mojo? Need some for the weekend.

It really doesn't come my way often. I recommend impending visitors with a tight deadline.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago

Imagine your besties are coming to visit and you want the place to be nice and clean

[โ€“] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 points 2 days ago

I have considered making some absorbent cotton slippers to wear after mopping the floor, so I can walk all over the wet floor and call it drying the floor.

Iโ€™m with you. Big 16th is tomorrow night and I might disappear into the hedgerow with a beverage haha.

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Don't let your parents catch you sneaking a drink.

Nah just joking. Happy Birthday Miss God. ๐ŸŽ‚

Thanks. It could get hectic.

Going to need my hot wattle bot again.

First sing and play since I dropped suboxone. Felt like my head was going to explode from endorphins.

Baby steps.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago

This is wonderful. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Nooooo, fav banh mi place nearby has had a ~glow up and is now offering heaps more fancy things, looks like it's changed ownership. Unfortunately means it's no longer reasonable to nip there on a lunch break, boo.

... though I do need to try the Salted Vietnamese Coffee...!

Is there still boxes of tissues on the tables?

I've been so successful in weatherstripping around the sliding door the dog door panel is inserted into that now the air pressure is blowing the dog flap open and letting in even more cold air than was coming through the gaps.

[โ€“] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 10 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Hooray made it down to the beach.

Not so hooray fucking weeds.

Is good to be down here though.

Resident magpie remembers me so appeased it w/ cheee. Really makes you wonder just how much memory they have. Haven't been here for months and the thing was right at my feet without a second thought.

[โ€“] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 8 points 2 days ago

Glad you made it down there today!! Love that you got a birb greeting. Clever little tackers!

and it changed my mind completely

Changed your mind in which direction?

Yeah, also when she refused to bring her kids to the hospital after the staff were urging her to do so, when they thought the kids had eaten leftovers. (Due to her claiming so). Her excuse was โ€˜no I donโ€™t want to upset them from schoolโ€™. It meant she 100% knew she hadnโ€™t fed any to the kids. Because what normal person wouldnโ€™t be terrified their kids might have eaten some, and are about to suffer a horrific death? No. She knew what she did, and hadnโ€™t served any to herself or the kids.

I love how Temu tries to trick you into taking a credit on your account instead of getting a refund to your card. They tell you it will take days to repay to the card, but it actually goes through instantly. Plus they put in an extra pop up to try to get you to change it without realising that clicking on "get refund instantly" means getting an account credit instead of an actual refund.

Oh well, I know their tricks and have the refund in my account and gave a bad review to the dodgy embroidery kit I was sent. I was actually a bit surprised that only one of them was actually dodgy, and because I didn't have to return the kit I'll be able to use the cotton on the stitch book I got that didn't come with any, so that works out ok.

Rain, so much rain here over next 36 hours.

[โ€“] Catfish@aussie.zone 7 points 2 days ago (14 children)

Ok, I despise Amazon, but sometimes you can't find something anywhere else. I now accidentally have 30 days of their TV thing. What should I check out?

[โ€“] mertn22@aussie.zone 5 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Check out that it doesn't automatically renew after the 30 days are up.

Bumble for Friends is starting to feel like a dating app! People match and never reply, or they tell you to message on Instagram, which I don't have. The latest is some dude trying to flirt with me. Umm wrong app buddy. You're meant to be on the other one...

Someone asked me how my day is going. That's nice but what about finding common interests? I don't want to tell you that I've played games with my cousins or worked a boring shift, what are you going to do with that info?!

So I'm just going to go to more in-person things. Fuck meeting people through this app. I always thought I'd meet a partner through a dating app, but I guess I'd rather be single for the rest of my life than have to go on one of those again.

I may have gone a touch overboard when ordering embroidry kits from Temu. I think I now have a lifetime supply, plus a bit extra.

The kits are mostly pretty good quality (except for one dodgy one I asked for a refund on) but a few of them will be a bit challenging as they are quite complicated. I'm chalking them up as a work expense as they are to help keep me awake on quiet night shifts. Unfortunately the ATO is unlikely to agree with that assessment, so I can't claim a refund on them.

I also bought a few more decals, hopefully Miss Meow will like her litter trays being in a small jungle. In any case having a plastic coating on the wall should help protect it from her over-enthusiastic litter digging practices.

Yesterday on the way home I saw the fire brigade breaking out somebody stuck in one of the old cast iron toilets. Hope you all have a better day than that unfortunate person ๐Ÿ˜ธ

When I was little I got my hand stuck in a trolley. All I heard was a staff member say "I'll get the butcher". My dad was a butcher. I knew what they did. I cried. The butcher brought out a tub of fat.
