Civ 2 was such an improvement over the first one. I remember both playing and baking mods for it after I exhausted the base game. My second favorite in the series.

I love how interlinked the tech tree was. In later versions it became a much simpler tree-based hierarchy which is easier to mentally navigate but way less realistic.

I made so many mods for Civ 1 and Civ 2. Civ 2 is also my second favorite (4 being my favorite)
