I am home. Tropical sun was amazing. Family was ...good. I had fun. But I am tired and in dire need of introvert time. Bed at 8 tonight I think. Back to work tomorrow though.
That's a pretty fast turnaround for going back to work! I used to do things like fly in on Monday morning after a holiday but need an increasing amount of time between flights and work these days. Hope you can fully recharge tonight and the rest of the week is chill. Really gonna need to tap on that stored sunlight with the weather forecast for this week.
Yeah I would like to have a day to regroup but it was an awkward time to get away. I bit the bullet and got a woolies delivery of easy but decent food so I don't have to think too much about food prep. And thanks for the heads up. Hadn't checked the weather π₯Άπ₯Ά

So we decided to turn over a new leaf at work. Turns out my old manager is under extreme stress for me to succeed in my role. From the way he was saying it, it sounded like there was some hectic shit going on in the background.
He apologised to the 2 dudes he shoved and he's gone back to being normal.
So that's a win.
We worked twice as hard (literally) at last week's eofy event than the same time last year, however there is a backlog of work because we're understaffed and the expectation from the old timers is that we work 12 hour days every day to get it done.
That's not how things work these days. It's not the late 90s.
And the world isnt going to end.
Would have been nice for someone to say "good work leading the team dude".
I get why people buy lottery tickets.
I hope you donβt have keep doing 12 hour days, that was burning you out.
Now that Erin Patterson has been found guilty I'm interested to hear everything that's going to come out that couldn't be shared publicly while the trail was ongoing.
I'm also glad I can stop visiting news sites for updates now because holy shit it's depressing.
Channel 7βs got the chopper out in Morwell to show us Erin being driven in a prison van from the court. Riverting journalism right here.

Is the only place to buy those posh lighters only at smokos or the internet?
Was thinking of getting one as a gift, but since I don't smoke, no idea where the proper place to get one is.
Smoke/vape shops will have quite a selection, places like the Reject shop will have some at the cheaper end of the market. Pay attention to how the item is refueled - you want the kind where you can get the injector refills from Bunnings in the bbq section. Cos those lighters are only good if filled with fuel. And the cheap ones tend to leak which can be a problem and a fire hazard.
Even for a smoker they're not a great gift imo. I had a zippo that I never used as it smelled and needed filling too often.

I think so? The metal clicky lighters you used to see in James Bond films and the like.
You can find them in those small shops in the centre of shopping centres that cut keys, fix shoes, engraving and stuff.
I reckon you are thinking of a Zippo. You can buy them online but you probably want to gift it with a can of lighter fluid which you can only buy in person. Both are sold at smoke shops and often camping/outdoorsy shops.

I was thinking of doing noodles for an easy dinner tonight, but I think my noodles are still in a box somewhere. I'm not sure I have enough enthusiasm for anything else. Maybe cheese and crackers, I'm pretty sure I can find all the ingredients for that.

Guilty! Iβm shocked, did not expect that.
I was convinced she'd done it a month ago. I did not hear the defense testimony of the past few weeks though - so I didn't have the complete picture.
I am surprised. Not that she did it, but that the defense testimony hadn't swung the jury to "Not guilty".
