Shit, just linux.

Use this community for anything related to linux for now, if it gets too huge maybe there will be some sort of meme/gaming/shitpost spinoff. Currently though… go nuts

As October is coming, I want to advertise Linux to people before the end of service for windows 10.

Endof10 campaign guide does not seem useful.

Is there is any good recent detailed guide to switch to Linux from Windows 10?

Depends on your needs. Plenty of youtube videos lurking out there about switching to Linux. If you know how to install an OS then great! The biggest barriers are understanding the software you need & finding the alternatives that work on Linux. Your best bet is to just jump in & start researching.

I went with an easy pick up and use distro for gaming (Nobara). Not a power user & have been learning the quirks along the way. I've heard Linux Mint is easy to pick up and use.

I installed Fedora on a laptop for someone who only knows how to use a PC for work like browsing websites, printing stuff, joining zoom calls. They have had no trouble with it. However, I update it myself as I've read the documentation for that.

What are you looking for in such a guide? Like suggested, Mint installation guide is great to... install it and I needed not much beside that myself (but I was a Mac user, not Windows) ;)

Imho, what most people need is the willingness to give Linux a chance. And that, I'm afraid, no guide could give them.

I feel like Linux Mint's install guide was really straightforward

yeah, it's really self explanatory, and most questions that you might have during the process I found to be already answered in the forums.

Personally, I would just recommend setting up the USB stick with Rufus rather than the crappy program they suggest in the guide.
