On Anime

While Anime is a beloved animation style with a rich history and extensive following, our focus here leans towards other forms of animation. This is due to the immense popularity of Anime in online spaces, which is amply covered by other dedicated communities.

This doesn't mean that Anime related conversation is not allowed here, only that it's not our focus. For a dedicated Anime instance, check out ani.social.

On Technical Discussion

While our primary goal is to discuss animated media, conversations about animation techniques and the process of creating animation are also welcome. Whether you're a budding animator seeking to understand more about the industry, or a seasoned professional sharing your experiences, you're welcome here.

I'm sure it's a fine movie but the trailers looked generic. Pixar's track record has been shaky lately so I'd rather wait for streaming, especially since this is giving me Mars Needs Moms vibes.

I have neither heard nor seen anything about this movie outside of some YouTubers showing a picture of the poster, going "you didn't know this released, right?"

If it wasn't for them and this post, I wouldn't even know the movie existed.

The trailer felt like the one for Wish. No substance just posturing that critics loved it.

To be fair, Wish was quite bad and was largely panned by critics and the audience after release. Elio so far seems to have gotten a better response by both.

I took my 15yr to see it last night; we enjoyed it

I've only seen a couple of ads for this and they make it seem like it's a generational film that will be talked about for years to come. lol

I half watched this while cleaning the other day. Visually it was nice. There are cute accessory characters. The parts of the story I heard were fine but I can't speak to how well the plot was connected. It's no Soul but I'd say around the quality of that one that's not inside out but is also anthropomorphized feelings.

How to train your dragon was pretty good. I didn't see the original but the remake was competently done. The lead actors did the job and the adult supporting actors were good. Good mix of action and story. Be yourself and all that.

I sort of grew up with the original how to train your dragon. was just starting college.

I wasn't interested before due to Disney's efforts. I know, different studio and stuff, but still. maybe I'll give this one a try.

This looks like a cute movie, but very generic.

My 8 year old wants to see it but we are just waiting for streaming.

It jsut seems like a pretty rehashed concept from the trailers.
