The microscopic parasite, which infects nearly one-third of the world’s population, interferes with communication between brain cells.

And the rest of the world, too.

Holy shit we should have let them chug the Ivermectin.

sadly the answer ain't that easy. A lot of people have this worldwide, numbers in the past have probably been even higher. US stupidity is a lot more complex

Toxoplasma gondii is common parasite that could be infecting up to a third of the human population. Most infected people don't even know they have it, but now researchers have potentially devised a way to detect it in human blood.

And yet, it tracks.

This is the one you can get from cats right? So someone who owns a cat has a high chance of having it.

[–] SocialMediaRefugee@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

My cat says "Mind your own business. There are no 'brain parasites'".

[–] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

I trust your cat, seems he knows what he's talking about.

What can be done to get rid of latent toxoplasmosis?

A brain parasite? Hey, here is a prime opportunity for RFK Jr to put his hate for vaccines and his love for ivermectin to the test.
