The groups noted that after the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests, California approved Senate Bill 98, which stipulated press rights amid protests.

Additionally, press groups noted that LAPD officers were given training following the 2020 protests on how to work safely with journalists.

"The investment in the training was in the millions, and some of the training has indeed been put to use by officers. But recent events have made it clear that the need for re-training is high," the National Press Club said.

The lawsuit seeks to stop the LAPD from engaging in unconstitutional acts against journalists.

"alleged" lol. We watched the one deliberately turn, aim and fire directly at one, on film. No one needed to allege, his actions spoke for itself

alleged is a word that helps prevent defamation lawsuits

Training won’t change anything. Consequences for shooting a journalist, like a felony conviction and being barred from all law enforcement for the rest of your life, seems like a good and reasonable first step.

This really has nothing to do with training. It has to do with fascist and sadistic cops with nearly non-existent accountability. You don't need to be trained not to attack journalists.

Is not allegued we all saw on video how at least two journalists were:

Shot in the leg with rubber bullets from a shotgun.

Shot in the head from under a bridge.

Hope they can go against their pension fund, so other cops become woke AF.
