Every month l download my income expense statement from my wallet app, which l read using my Google Drive PDF Viewer. However, this time no matter which PDF Viewer l use, the result is the same : the file is corrupted or in an unsuitable format.

Can anyone please help me fix this problem ?

I've been doing that since days now.

Srsly I could suggest some technical ways to investigate what's wrong, but doing stuff like that is absolutely not your job. If there's some kind of vendor support available for the wallet app, this is a situation where you're really supposed to use it.

Hello there.... I'm getting in touch with you after 11 days...... The vendor support is practically useless...... All they say is that the problem appears to be on my end......

Here's the app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobikwik_new

Here, they have an option for downloading statement. The statement gets downloaded as PDF, which I view using my Google Drive PDF viewer. But now what's happening is that l'm unable to trace where it's getting downloaded. This l need to find out first. My android version is 11.

Not sure what to suggest, maybe try on a different phone? I'm unable to view the play store page that you linked.

The app is called MobiKwik, and it's linked to the device as it works with the sim card connection. Trying out a new device would mean taking out the sim card, which is not easy.

Are you saying you are able to download a pdf but it is somehow malformed? Did you try converting it to ps (PostScript) and were you able to get anything at all?

[–] Docker@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's untraceable after downloading.... That's causing all the problem.......

[–] solrize@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

What do you mean by untraceable? If I remember you got some kind of file but it didn't work, right?

[–] Docker@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Look, a downloaded file ought to be tracked in some folder, right ? Normally it's the download folder.... It could be the DCIM.....

But here what's happening is that immediately after the download is happening, automatically the open option is showing, and l'm being shown 4 options by my device : google drive, Dropbox, Firefox and Adobe scan. But neither of these is opening the file. Firefox says file cannot be found, Dropbox says file is corrupt, google drive says the same, whereas in Adobe scan, the file is totally missing.

Now, it's supposed to be in the download manager, but even the existence of the corrupt file cannot be traced.

The file is probably corrupt. Reach out to app support if you still can't open it.

Try in an Adobe app too in case of some obscure standard. If it's still not opening, then it can't be opened.

Maybe, the issue is with your wallet app? Have you tried other pdf files on your phone. Or using a file manager like solid explorer to see if it can open the PDF file?

Barring that share the phone, Android version and possibly the PDF file being used in question so others can test on their phone? If the PDF file contains sensitive data redact it using a desktop pdf app.

My device is not compatible with solid explorer.

[–] limerod@reddthat.com 1 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Solid explorer works with all android smartphones all the way from android 4.4 kitkat to android 15 and perhaps also the upcoming android 16.

In any case you will have to contact this wallet app developer since you cannot provide more information and won't get useful answers on this community.

Can you try opening the pdf on a different device to make sure it's not actually corrupted?

[–] Docker@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

This is a phone based app, installed on my phone.

Trying email the PDF to another device (like your computer) or saving it to Google Drive and opening it on another device
