this is probably Amish or Mennonite. Quakers aren't generally in the "plain community". they dress like us and live among us. they could be anyone! beware!

There is an orthodox branch of Quakers, the Conservative Friends, who dress much closer to the Anabaptist groups. These kids are wearing the same suspenders as this guy: https://www.quakerjane.com/images/plain_dress/michigan-friends-1.jpg

I've never known Amish groups, outside of maybe the Floridian one, to participate in English politics and this would be considered English to them. Local Mennonites host our Food Not Bombs distribution days at their church, seemingly without any friction between the organisers and parish, so they definitely have an integrated and progressive sect.

While still on board ship, Austin and Fisher were ordered to be stripped naked and searched for signs of witchcraft (Devil’s Marks).

I'm sure "Witch" was badly edited onto their knuckles in subsequent paintings

Aren't quakers the ones who offer you oats? Seems pretty easy to spot. Who eats oats in this day and age? I'm not a horse.
