I keep remembering this movie but not its title.

If memory serves, it was a pretty decent "lots of people talking to each other" film.

A lot of people from Star Trek TNG were involved in making it. Once I heard that, it clicked that this is basically a really good extended TNG episode where they don't leave the ship

Three of the actors have appeared in Star Trek, and the writer Jerome Bixby also wrote four episodes of TOS.

same here, but i wish that the writing was better and i'm convinced that the actors are what carried the movie; especially the starring one.
