β€œOur position is very simple for all countries traveling to Russia on May 9: We cannot be held responsible for what happens on the territory of the Russian Federation,” Zelensky said during a briefing with journalists. β€œThey are responsible for your safety. We will not provide any guarantees, because we do not know what Russia might do on those dates.”

Zelensky cautioned that Russia could orchestrate provocations, including β€œarsons, explosions, or other actions,” and then attempt to blame Ukraine. He said Kyiv has advised visiting delegations accordingly.

Doing a military parade and concentrating combat vehicles during an active war is certainly a weird move.

it's also required for the russian mechanism to keep the populace too terrified to act out

  • Putin: proposes 3 days of ceasefire
  • Zelensky: refuses a pointlessly short ceasefire
  • Ukraine: claims they cannot guarantee the safety of visitors to Moscow
  • Russia: pulls more air defense to Moscow, depriving peripheral regions of air defense
  • ... :) ?

Who is planning on visiting?

What... What if Trump does? Oh man... A guy can hope.

Netanyahu got invited.

i believe i saw somewhere that Xi was going to be in attendance

I don't think putting JD Vance in charge would help Ukraine. He campaigned on gutting aid

Yes! That would be awesome.

One dirty bomb nuke in Moscow could save the world. It would literally be radiation therapy to remove a tumor.

It will always be ghoulish to salivate over the destruction of a city to kill one guy.

[–] Wilco@lemm.ee -3 points 5 days ago

Nah ... the city is made for Trump and Trump is made for that city. War is hell. If Ukraine hits Moscow and Trump happens to be there it would be pure poetry.

Not one. Look at the invitees.

That strike on the arsenal outside Moscow the other week has tee'd all this May 9th anxiety beautifully, and Zenensky is riding the wave like a pro.

They don't even need to hit it at this point. In fact the cost of trying and failing might be too high Vs just leaving the impression that they could have done it but chose not to.

Last year, we were concerned about massive missile attacks on May 9th. Good to see it's now reversed.
