This is a community for Western Canadians who believe it's time to chart our own course — to stand together, break free from Eastern control, and pursue an independent, sovereign nation built on our values. We stand for freedom of speech, the right to privacy, and the inherent right to self-defense — principles that are essential to a free and just society.

SK has bigger proportion in favour. Ontario has more secessionists "only if liberals form government" than Alberta.

Interesting. Really hedging their bets on oil, gas and coal remaining a dominant industry over the long term huh? Not exactly a bet I would personally take but if they wanna go it's their funeral.

I have a feeling that Russia has been promoting this bullshit.

Same as with Greenland. First sow the propaganda, let it stew for a few years so there'll be a population online of any given locals that actually bought the bullshit. Usually very vocal teenagers who think they're being smart or something, but are actually lending credibility to Russian propaganda.

Then if and when it gets to the point there's enough internal conflict... it can end up like Ukraine.

Although obviously that's not as likely with Greenland or Alberta, they're not out of reach of Russia, surely.

I find treason distasteful.

Danielle Smith should be more independent and just leave. She does not need to take any of our good citizens with her.

A large majority

25 to 30%

So really, a large minority then.

Edit: I am confused indeed.

You have it backwards

That’s the % that are pro-separation

70% are against it

I don't get what you're trying to say.

I direct the blame to first post after waking up.

Maybe they're confused as to who the 70% are?
Maybe they're thinking that polls aren't as indicative of public opinion as they're made out to be?
Who knows
