So. I've been doing some trials with my adhd medication over the last 3 days.

It appears (testing tomorrow) that I have been taking almost double what I should have been taking.

I'll know tomorrow.

It would explain the anxiety about nothing, the insane tenseness in my whole body, my random bouts of nervousness for no reason, amongst other things.

Guess we'll see.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I had that happen with thyroid meds. Near constant edge of panic attack jitters. Blood test said halve the dose!

I just can't believe I've been putting up with this, thinking "well, I guess that's the cost of clarity" for the last 5 frikkin years!!!

hope it works out

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I hope you find what works and you can just take a couple of pills to go 'lock-in' mode

Thanks mate. Here goes nothing!

New plan hatched (heh) in terms of buying gifts for people back in the Soup. Because they get nearly everything there (albeit marked up) it can be hard to figure out what to bring back... and I have the perfect idea.

Discounted fancy Easter choccies! I shall head to Leo's on Tuesday or Wednesday after work and see if there's some premium local brands on sale, the kind you won't get overseas. Monsieur Truffe on discount would be nice.

I am in trouble. Bill has had fresh meat 3 days in a row. He was disgusted to get it again and is demanding that delicious dinner with gravy that comes in pouches. He even shows me where the pouches are,

Another Easter weekend spent with the close fam.

I'm kind of resentful that my kids didn't grow up with the extended family, just for the gathering experiences.

But the relos are so toxic, there's nothing to miss except for a headache and anxiety.

Also, Severance season 2....what in the fuck am I watching and why can't I stop watching it.

[–] just_kitten@aussie.zone 5 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Severance S2 almost feels like a different show that's for sure.

I feel you about the tension with family. Sometimes I feel sad I only have one subsection of my family I really can connect with. But I'm glad that I have the option of avoiding so much drama as well. Creating better choices now that I have them....

Just a note. It's ok if you are on your own today. Eat the eggs and enjoy.

[–] just_kitten@aussie.zone 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I'm feeling a bit bummed spending all 4 days alone, however I sorta don't mind given the lack of alone time I will have during my 11 day trip and the two days prior.

Cheers :)

I've got hot cross buns, a fluffy cat and still feeling good from speaking to my friends last night ❀️

[–] bacon@aussie.zone 6 points 4 days ago

With Friday and Monday touching grass full day I in fact need to be alone today to sort out my affairs.

Going through some old shit.

Here's an original propaganda pamphlet dropped from ze germans from me old grandfathers days when serving in Tobruk 1941 (!).

Also have 'classified' maps. I had no Idea the ol' boy kept those until today.

[–] TheWitchofThornbury@aussie.zone 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

The War Museum in Canberra might like those. Or the Mitchell Library.

[–] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

They're all going to a museum.

I just couldn't believe what I was seeing.

It's quite remarkable what gets brought home as 'souvenirs'. Guns etc. are fairly common, as are coins and badges etc. But ... there was a case about 15 years ago in country Victoria where a man was going through their ex-WW1 great-grandfather's papers and found the severed head of a german soldier in a box. This was successfully repatriated to the deceased's family, but WTF!

Cleaning up old photos. This one is near perfect.

No eggs for me this year :(

But every easter I remember my old doggo Hecate, a black lab. The first easter after we got her, P's hid the eggs the night before in the garden, and us kids would woke up to find a whole lot of doggos poo on the lawn with foil in it. She was always gonna find them. She didn't get sick surprisingly.

Miss that dog.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 7 points 4 days ago

My dog once stole half a block of chocolate off the coffee table. I left the room for 2 minutes and when I returned he was acting really shifty in his bed so I checked it and found it buried in his blankets with 2 squares nibbled out of it.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 5 points 4 days ago

I had a childhood cat demolish an Easter choc basket. Also miraculously seemingly unharmed. Bloody rascals.

Happy Chocolate for Breakfast Day!

[–] tone212_@aussie.zone 14 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

So I think the friend outing I planned went well. There’s existing cracks there but when we’re all together having a good time, it’s really good. I had fun.

Chicken wings cooked. Can’t wait to eat, resting for a couple mins then I’ll dig in.

Little orange girl I'm pretty sure. She's a lot smaller than the other orange kitten.

Happy Easter :)

I just opened my postal vote envelope and there are way too many options there to deal with at this time of morning. Trying to decide which of the right wing nutter parties to put last will be a challenge. Probably the arse-trumpet party, due to the absolute disgust I feel every time I see one of those awful ads.

[–] SituationCake@aussie.zone 9 points 4 days ago

There’s exceptionally strong competition for bottom of the ballot.

Come on rain!!!!!!

In other news, I've effectively done nothing the last 2 days except nap, eat, play and cuddle Fluffball.

Perfection.

Also, I think I solved my almost 12 months of broken sleep.

It's the antidepressant. I feel stupid for not figuring it out sooner. So I'm not taking a 2nd tablet in the late afternoon and will see what happens.

Thanks chatgpt

Shopping done, breakfast and decaf consumed. Hello bed.

Really hoping that rain promised today eventuates. It's been so dry recently!

Last two days saw me sink into disgusting goblin mode just eating and scrolling and watching tv without really enjoying any of it. Today I shall vanquish all the chores, wash my greasy hair, and start packing.

I’ve ordered a washable electric blanket. I’m going to try and clean the existing one but having something you’re only able to spot clean is a bit grotty to me.

I knew it, this rain was a total lie - all I ended up with was a car with dried dusty splotches all over! I'm not confident it'll rain much tomorrow either... it's so dry out there.

It took so much effort but I've done my most important duties today: cleaned manky kitchen and bathroom, vacuumed disgusting gross carpet, washed and dried some seriously dirty sheets and clothes, put new sheets on, and gave my own oily unwashed hair a good clean. 1.5hr chat with depressed cousin (both of us significantly more cheerful after talking), and a decent dinner later, I'm certainly feeling gruntled.

This will sound awful but I think I'm just going to frigging go into the office tomorrow and work (and count it as hours for later in the week), because I'm just not in the mood for a 4 day long weekend when I have a LOT to do before Thursday and will be pretty much unavailable for 7 working days after during which time several deadlines will come up.

I'd rather clear my plate early, and also do it on a day when I will have zero distractions (but good coffee, ergonomics and lighting).

Feels like I’m being buried by life crap -_-

The phosphate supplement needed to be ordered in and then the 4 day public holiday hit so I can’t get it until Tuesday. I feel like shit. I should be resting but I need to sort the things that piled up while unwell.

Scrubbed the bathroom sink out and wiped the mirror so at least they’re clean now. Next I keep working on Mt Washmore, do the dishes in the sink.

And then keep trying to chip away at the digital clutter. I haven’t been able to deal with it before now due to constant survival mode.

Next week I have to try and get more antibiotics or somehow get an emergency appointment.

Easter party 2 doors down w/ heaps of kids.

Neighbour has 2 dogs going off at the noise. I start digging out a tree on the boundary and one of the doggos starts going off at me.

You're not going to win a war w/ 2 fronts doggo. Learn your history.
