They say this commentor is still stained orange to this very day

Who gives a fuck what he thinks prices are when he's trying to dismantle this country from the ground up.

[–] user6527@lemmy.wtf 20 points 4 days ago

Someone at my office was so happy gas prices were falling. They had just raised gas prices by thirty cents in my area. 🤦

$2.09 is roughly the price/gallon on the commodities market. https://www.reuters.com/markets/quote/RBc1/

transportation costs, additives, markup at every link in the distribution chain including retail, and taxes from multiple jurisdictions, all need to be added to that.

So gas still costs nothing over there.

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I pay more than twice that at the pump. A 50mpg used car is the cheapest way for me to get around since I don’t have access to a car plug where I rent :(

[–] eltrain123@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

Look up PlugShare. I travel around the country and charge for free at a lot of level 2 chargers. Level 2 chargers get around 15 miles per hour of charge, whereas a regular 120v plug gets you about 3miles per hour. It’s a trade for time, but doable if you have a few hours of doomscrolling or Netflixing. It’s not for everyone, but I’ve managed to cut my transit costs down significantly. Totally understandable if it doesn’t work for you, but I have some freedom in my schedule, work remote, and have internet, so I can sit at a charger for a few hours a few days a week.

His cult will believe this because he said it. Without evidence, without ever seeing it. Everyone is saying it.

looks at Vance 25th Amendment. Anytime you're ready.

Yes I'd be cool with you taking the reins, that's how dire the situation.

I don't think I'll ever see gas down to $1 ever again for the rest of my life. E-bikes (and well designed Euro cities) here I come!

[–] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 6 points 4 days ago

I think the last time I saw gas under $1 was over 25 years ago.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 10 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

I'm driving across the country. It's about 2.70-3.50 in the Midwest. I'd say average is about 3.10ish.

And I'm not saying the Midwest is necessarily going to have the cheapest gas, but the cheapest gas isn't half the lowest you'll pay in iowa.

Flip flop 47 will lie even when the truth would help him more.

[–] Hikermick@lemmy.world 9 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I'll bet he can't pump his own gas

[–] Freshparsnip@lemm.ee 2 points 4 days ago

He struggled to open a car door

[–] cabron_offsets@lemmy.world 14 points 5 days ago

He’s such a stupid cunt. Can’t fathom what low gas prices mean for the greater economy. No grasp whatsoever of macroeconomics.

[–] Wakmrow@hexbear.net 15 points 5 days ago (3 children)

I'd like to see old Donnie wriggle his way out of this one

Like any other bullshit that comes out of his mouth. By not caring.

[–] determinism2@hexbear.net 6 points 5 days ago

Ah, well, nevertheless

[–] Pastaguini@hexbear.net 2 points 5 days ago

What if this actually is somehow the thing that gets him impeached

[–] glitch1985@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago (1 children)

**After $2 off a gallon with points.

[–] xorollo@leminal.space 3 points 4 days ago

Gotta sign up for that gold trump card for that deal.

Not supporting the orange moron by any means, but this article is incredibly badly written. He claims gas is down to $1.98, but the best the article can do is "drivers are UNLIKELY to find gas [at that price]" - capitalisation mine.

Unlikely and unable are different things. If drivers are unlikely (and not unable), then that means some of them can, which means gas IS available at $1.98, therefore Fart is correct.

Now if gas really isn't $1.8 anywhere then the article can drop all the guff about averages and unlikeliness and simply state outright: no garages anywhere are selling gas at $1.98.

[–] RymrgandsDaughter@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

I was trying to find this mystical land of sub $2 gas

[–] Freshparsnip@lemm.ee 2 points 4 days ago
[–] Flamekebab@piefed.social 5 points 5 days ago

The notion that such a thing would be a positive is rather indicative of how far off we as a species are from getting out shit together.

[–] Letsdothisagain@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

To be far, 1.98$ isn't that much lower than 2.70$,

[–] EightBitBlood@lemmy.world 11 points 4 days ago

That's almost 30% lower my dude. Which is quite a lot.
