Hey comrades,

I know this is a strange one. I've spent the last year underemployed working part time at a very physically demanding job - but now even that opportunity has dried up. I've had countless interviews in the past year, going through rounds and rounds, applying to dozens of places daily, but nothing has come through. So I know this is a long shot to ask if anyone on here knows of any employment opportunities in NYC, but I'm desperate at this point. The economy is just getting worse and worse, and I've always heard that social connections get jobs more than application volume, so I'm holding out hope a fellow comrade here might be able to help. I've lost so much this last year, I've been struggling to keep myself fed with a roof over my head, and all I'm asking for is a fair shot at a job that can help me get into a more stable position.

I've got a decade of experience working in IT - hardware repair, helpdesk, tech support, systems administration, A/V solutions. I've worked in warehouse settings on a forklift, in high-stress retail settings, and I've got experience volunteering at food banks and public libraries. I'm very telegenic and highly competent, and if you're able to help me out, I'll show my gratitude by paying it back with exceptional performance.

My last job paid minimum wage with no benefits and required me to lift an imperial ton of cargo every day, so my bar for work expectations is pretty low at this point. In my wildest fantasies I dream about being a cashier clerk or a barback.

Shoot me a message for more info and I can see about sending my resume or we can meet up in a public place and discuss it further. Whatever is easiest and most agreeable.

thank you for your solidarity and love

When you say β€œmetro,” how far north are you willing to go? Was in a place today looking for a barista/salesperson position. Not sure if that’s the kind of work you’re looking for
