Minecraft is under feudalism

Villagers live under the dictatorship of the Golem (DotG). Later, they turn into the dictatorship of the Steve (DotS). The Steve is the feudal lord. For STEVE owns all the land in the village. Villagers aren't slaves because Minecraft leashes don't work on them. But this only masks class exploitation under STEVE's regime. When Steve is in his highest stage of feudalism, he starts farming villagers for iron. He puts all the villagers in 1 sq block space for the rest of their lives.

The dictatorship of the Steve ends when HIS 2 week Minecraft phase ends, and Steve goes back IRL modern capitalism.

minecraft is settler colonialist fantasy. a wide world, mostly empty, with the few people in it easily subjugated and exploited.

it also has the individualist brainworms. a single plucky individual building up an entire civilization single-handedly.

There is no civilization in Minecraft

And make pottery... Yeah. But can you call it society if you've only known hermitcraft?

[–] huf@hexbear.net 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

civilization is treats and nothing but the treats, society doesnt exist, wake up sheeple!

If society isn't real, then how come we live in one? Checkmate jonkler deniers!

[–] huf@hexbear.net 2 points 10 months ago

Villagers aren’t slaves because Minecraft leashes don’t work on them.

I'm really glad to have read this sentence today.

Me putting villagers into a boat and pulling the boat with a leash: "it's not slavery it's unpaid labor"

Saying that Minecraft villages are under the dictatorship of the golem is stupid. The Iron Golem and the villagers share the same class interests.

And the steve supposedly provides protection from zombies... who only spawn when the steve is there... hmmm

[–] yet_another_commie@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 10 months ago

Zombies are right-wing. Golems are antifa

It isn't a dictator of the Golem, the Golem is the enforcement class, in this essay I will

I don't own all the land in the village also I use mods to make most of the villages totally gigantic to the point where it feels more believable the villagers have their own economy. Also there are a mix of player-shaped presumably homo sapiens villagers and the homo Squidward villagers so there's not a weird racial undercurrent to the worldbuilding and the environmental structures tend to dwarf a single player's survival constructions, simulating the feeling of civilization. I also play awesome techno instead of the stupid sad Minecraft soundtrack. Also I have a mod that gives me a rocketship. And windmills. And a gun.

Now that Minecraft has received an update that allows leashing villagers together in train-like formations, how does this analysis change?

Did Trump become the president of Minecraft
