Communists don't just have the burden of being right too early, they also have the burden of never getting recognition once they've been proven to be right.

A friend is now getting really pissed off about the annexation of Gaza. And I'm like, yep, I've been mad about this for a year. And he responds with something along the lines of

"Oh yeah, the Biden administration wasn't doing great, but it was only the public facing stuff. He was doing all of his negotiation behind doors. It may not have been good, but at least I understood why he was trying to do things quietly. It might have been ineffective, but he was trying".

Sure, right, Cool cool cool, won't even admit that this is what we've been fighting the dems about... ugh.

And follows it up with

"There's not much we can do to affect foreign policy because of how we're set up"

Like.. What? Hey thanks for finally getting on board about Gaza. Please stop making excuses for Biden. And finally, WHAT THE FUCK? Nothing we can do? So I guess what Trump is saying is all bullshit then, right? Because, you know, "There's not much we can do to affect foreign policy" right???

I think I'm giving up. I can't help these people anymore. I just need to avoid politics with anyone. Their brain worms are too deep and I'm not good at propaganda AGHHH.

Are you in this for the recognition and applause? For feeling smarter than and superior to others? You're here of all places, so no you're not. Materialism wouldn't be a revolutionary philosophy if it fell in line with what people readily agree with. Your friend sided with you on this and that is good. Keep being educated and correct, and he'll agree with you some more. When you agree on enough, you'll be able to teach him how to be just as correct. Then we'll have another comrade, and you'll have a better friend.

The education is a thankless job, a fight against established thought. Our props will be the society where you no longer have to be an educator. And you're getting us closer to that, one opinion at a time. So keep your head up.

There was a similar thing that happened that illustrates the same point.

Media has been silent about bird flu, many people telling me I'm overreacting as the supply chain has been getting slowly infected over the last 1-1.5 years. Now that Trump's in office, Rachel Maddow covers it in a 10-minute long monologue & everyone's like "have you heard about the bird flu?"

It's like nothing exists until Trump does it

It’s like I said last August:

If Harris wins, the Democratic base will continue to sleep. You can do anything when the Dems are in the WH. It was under Trump that protesters shut down airport terminals, but under Biden the base sleeps regarding immigration & asylum. That’s what Glenn Greenwald and I learned from the GWB to Obama transition: the Dems sleep when their team is in office. Greenwald “changed” from hero to villain without changing the least bit; the only difference was who was in office. Unlike the Dem-aligned media, he didn’t go to sleep.

You can war as much as you want. You can run a fucking star chamber. You can stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody.

If Harris is the harm reduction candidate, who for?

That's the good thing about Trump. He says the quiet part out loud and reveals how horrible the US is. The bad side of this is that it makes the Dems look nice.
